Foligno "speed to burn'?! Hahaha.
Always good for a laugh or two.
Oh, I should mention that Bob Probert, errrr Marcus Foligno was certainly not "14 for 14" in his "fist fights"'. First of all he usually fights guys who don't usually fight, with the exception of Cody McLeod, which btw was a draw. But he absolutely got his ass kicked by world heavyweight Victor Hedman. (Sarcasm)
I'm actually a fan of Foligno, but as usual, Garth exaggerates Buffalo players to the point where it makes me wonder if his facilities are all there; and it gets really old. Nice try though, Garth. Some of us actually pay attention and read for information, not to hear how great Nic Deslauries and Tim Murray are. |

First of all it's "faculties" not "facilities".
And according to Hockeyfights.com Marcus only lost one fight last year. The Hedman one and Hedman didn't even get 50%. It was scored 47.6% Hedman, 33% Foligno, and 19.5% draw. I know that adds up to 100.1% but that's the score on the website. Not a very big ass kicking. And he was 6-1-2 this year and 4-0-1 last year. That's pretty good. And the Cody McLeod one was scored 75.9% Foligno, 13.9% draw and 10.9% McLeod.
Maybe do some more of that reading you're on about.

I heard had Clinton won, the first thing she does is ban hockey fights in the NHL.
True story. Heard just now on CNN. |

Kane is off the trade market because teams are offering poop for him and the Sabres are lacking goal scorers as it is. I re-sign him at Oshie money for 4 yrs. It's a slight raise 5.25 to 5.75. You read the reports Kimmie P. depises him and wants him gone well the hole is dug and if true she needs to move on and let JBotts do his job and stay out of it. |

Maybe Brandon Hagel comes into camp and steals a spot on the left side, he seems to have a little bit of Brad Marchand in him. I watched him at camp last year and he stood out with his effort and tenacity and he followed it up with a solid year for Red Deer.
I think we have to give GMJB a solid "A" for his work in the past few days, except for failing to convince that goalie to come to Buffalo (I will not speak his name ever!), GMJB has solidified our Defense, brought in some low cost competition for roster spots, signed some veteran leadership for Rochester, strengthened our Goaltending throughout the organization, hired the guy I thought would be the next head coach for Rochester and brought in a trusted confidant to run the Amerks in the style he wants it run. It seemed that all of his moves were well thought out and detailed, nice change, don't you think? |

I don't consider my opinions to be "syrupy adulation", I base my opinions on what I observe being done by GMJB to improve my hockey team. I have been a fan of this team since 1970 and I have given every person in charge of running the franchise the benefit of doubt, knowing that they are smarter then me in their knowledge of the league and all that goes on behind the scenes. I am positive I know more about the business of the Buffalo Sabres than someone who trolls from Arizona. I try to locate the positives of player moves and I look to the ceiling when trying to figure out a prospects potential, then the floor like most of the people who comment on this bloggers site. If my opinion meshes with Garth, maybe he's smarter then you give him credit for. |

Oh and by the way, I totally disagree that the Sabre's need to move on from Evander Kane, finding players that play the game the way he does is not easy, if it was every team would have one. Could he be a better teammate? from all I hear...yes, apparently he can be somewhat aloof, but I think that attitude can be changed, if I was GMJB I would be trying to get him locked up for 4 years at 5-5.5 mil. I personally don't think he is going to sign an extension in Buffalo, so he probably will be moved at some point, but I hope not |
