Nylander to 3C, or move Komarov to 3C, as he plays both wings and center to my knowledge. |

nylander to 3C is possible. but hard to know if the leafs are ready to move him there.
komarov hasn't played any C in Toronto. i don't think that's in the plans.
what is the expected cost for bozak? |

I still don't think you've given us anything that actually improves the leafs. Nylander and Matthews should be on the same line after what they made happen this year. You shouldn't break up that chemistry. I really don't see any reason for the leafs to trade Bozak unless it's an over payment. They won't get a better lineup at center. |

It's a tough deal to make I don't value Bozak and his one year enough to trade anything of significance and I don't think Toronto wants to just give him away. Pass on this one. |

The only real surplus the Penguins have is at wing. Specifically, right wing. Of our wings, Sheary represents the best combination of value and expend-ability.
I think our 3rd line C quest should revolve around Sheary unless its a much bigger fish (which I don't necessarily advocate).

Not sure how you think Leafs would trade away a 6'1 center who scored 55pts last year and who is defensively responsible for a 5'11 winger that only managed 22pts.
While the NHL never seems to think much of Bozak, the guy quietly outscored Krejci, Hall, Perry, Mackinnon, and Kopitar |

If Bozak's dealt, it would probably be for a LW or D, or the usual standard of picks, whatever combo.
As it currently stands, both Bozak and JvR, have more value to the Leafs, by playing the full year with the team. Trades wont happen unless things go down at the deadline. |

What about Jvr and bozak for geutzel and Shultz?
The leafs derailed there ability to get a top 4 right shot deffencemen with there free agent signings so now they need to get creative.
Jvr for cal foote and suster
Then bozak suster and a affordable winger for Shultz
Shultz is the only player on Pittsburgs line of any real value concerning the leafs needs. As for loosing a center nylander should be given his own line so he can be payed in his next contract based on his performance at the position he is projected to play. Not to cash in on playing winger to a goal scoring machine. Just pay attention to the oilers situation with McDebt and drisitel and take pride in not being cherelli |

Yea I'm not sure why you guys would even be willing to entertain it at this point. I thought the Marleau signing was a signal that you're in win now mode. Bozak certainly helps now. You may not sign him after this season but you can't trade everyone going to FA once you start feeling like a contender. |

You could be right in this. Hard to justify trading sonething big for Bozak as a rental.
Had thought they supposedly wanted to move him to clear salary, but that's not what the Leaf fans are saying. And they're right, Toronto isn't in a sell for picks or prospects spot. |

Leafs don;t need to move Bozak or JVR right now, but have a glut of forwards and need a defense-men.
The reality is that two from last years top 6 can go, replaced by Marleau and Kappinen.
To me a combination of Marleau taking left side draws with Nylander taking right side draws gives you the center you need. Nylander and Kappinen have already proven chemistry from the Marlies, and Marner and Mathews have been begging to play together.
BTW Komarov has played center for the leafs, and done quite well. Even last year he took draws when Kadri was struggling at the dot. He just prefers the wing because he loves smashing guys into the boards.
And then there is Gauthier who may be ready to step into the NHL in a checking center role, promoting Kadri.
So lots of options. This is why Bozak and/or JVR are expendable, but ONLY in a deal that fills the gaping hole on the right side of the leafs defensive core. Not for another forward, and probably not before the season starts when the leafs get huge LTIR cap relief. Bozak may look great on the penguins but It don't see what the Penguins can offer back. Penguins defense looks pretty thin already. |

i don't think babcock cares for bozak and he's not in the long-term plans.
if they plan to move on, it could make sense to trade him. though they'll likely have to trade for a replacement.
you guys are in win now mode. bringing in guys on 1-year deals gets rationalized all the time by gm's going for it. |

No.
Why would the Pens trade their 2nd best defenseman and a young scoring wing with 2 years on his entry deal for a couple of impending UFAs?

Nylander as 3C makes no sense really. To best utilize his skill sets, he needs to be in the top 6. |

If it was Bozak for picks that makes total sense. But to trade some of the young guys that helped us win the past 2 years or any of the 3 interesting prospects we have that will help us with the cap, I wouldn't trade for a rental. Pittsburgh just isn't under pressure to make this type of move right now. |

Bozak is 31 and makes 4.2 million and is a UFA next year. With Bozak putting up 55 points last year....if he repeats that this year whether on Toronto/Pittsburgh/NY...he is headed for a pay increase. This would put Pittsburgh right back into the situation they face now, next year.
With the pending UFA's after next season I really can't see Pittsburgh going for Bozak....I really see GMJR looking for a younger player with upside that Pittsburgh can attain for years to come (at a decent cap hit) rather then going out for a higher priced player. GMJR did it once before finding Bonino on a good contract, I have absolute knowing he can do it again and hence he will be patient. |

Bozak would be a great fit on any team but you areright, the Leafs are not going to trade Bozak. At all. Just cuz some jackass writer from toronto thinks he will not be resigned and sime jackass writer from NY thinks TO would trade him for 30 year old 2 nd pairing D dies not mean any of that makes any sense.
Bozak will play in TOthis year and then he willsign fir a smallhometown discount at his current rate of 4.2 million for 3 to 4 seasons. |

JVR and Bozak for schultz and guentzel would be one of the worst trades the nhl has seen in decades. Two expensive UFA guys for two superior players who are cost controlled (one at a bargain basement rate).
Swap Bozak to Nylander and its still a bad deal. |

based on what? all that ice time? the pk time and the pp time? all the important degensive zone draws they rely on bozak for? Bozak is a huge part if the Leafs and he will be with us for years to come. i dont understand all the bozak hate from leafs fans on this site... we get it.. he is not crosby... hell he is not even getzlaf. hes just bozak and he is great at what he does |
