I'm sure he's not ready. It's more a statement on our depth at D. We have zero prospects that are "close". If I'm Butcher it would be the kind of situation I'd be looking for. Great team with nobody blocking his way to the NHL if he proves worthy.

Any player that says "Gave me his whole spiel" sounds like an entitled jacka$$ that things he's worth a hell of a lot more than he's actually worth. That's clearly showing a lack of respect for the other party. Let him sign a deal elsewhere and struggle & be sent down to the AHL.
