If Sam was a better skater he'd be a #1 center, until then he's a winger or a special teams guy.

I think there would have to be a lesser D man going Carolinas way and a lesser forward going Buffalos way. This would push Beaulieu to 7D and Gorges to 8D. We'd also be short 2 top 6 forwards.
