not sure where it will all lead, but that's what I believe they're thinking...he's also noted for his PK prowess, which will help the league's 26th ranked penalty kill

Hopefully he can be the kind of help Larsson was for the Oilers' blueline last year. Not an exact parallel as Risto is much more of a risk-taker than Klefbom, but he should be able to offer some support and higher level defending than either Kulikov or Gorges could provide and more than McCabe should be counted on to provide. Assuming health, do you figure Beaulieu makes more sense stylistically with Bogo or is that a spot you believe McCabe should hold?

Should be interesting to follow the progress of your blueline this year and see if Housley has what it takes to coach a whole team!

Not big on scandella, especially as top pair. Getting pommer back for foligno and Ennis and adding pouliot on the cheap was the best part of it. Edit: a lot of it hinges on how they divide the ice time and competition but in general would rather scandella on the second pair.

i would hope that housley would have ristolanus play that way no matter what. They played it safe under bylsma and it was disgusting. at least this way you get full value out of him 5v5.

In light of Edelman’s injury, a league source said the Patriots and recently retired Anquan Boldin had mutual interest in bringing Boldin to New England this offseason, and he remains intrigued by the possibility. But the point is likely moot. Boldin signed with the Bills, and was placed on Buffalo’s reserve/retired list Aug. 22. That means the Bills retain his rights, and they would need to release him in order to let him sign with the Patriots. That sort of cooperation from a division rival doesn’t seem likely.

He's just a solid 3/4 that doesn't push the needle either way.

I don't think he's a long term top pair guy, but considering what we paid it's a great add
