when the market comps were around 1.6m for him based on his production...yeah low ball offer my ass. They gave Z more than a fair deal and he is very important to the Avs long term. I think its win win for both.

He wanted 3m a season to begin with. So yeah they did a good job gettign the price they were comfortable with while over paying at this moment in his development

mannnnnnnnnn finally this little drama is over. I think both sides should be happy they got what they wanted, a reasonable but more than fair price. I just....since they were dragging this out so long I would have liked to see it worth it for a long term deal. cause to me it seems like one or both sides were screwing around and thats not cool. hopefully they learn from this and next contract them they get it done quick and easy like. but glad to have the big man on board.

I'd really be interested to see Z play the preseason w Mironov. because as the BSN guys pointed out, Mironov seemed a lot more comfortable playing w someone he could communicate w in Boikov. maybe they rock the preseason like that to to ease Miro into it then slip Z up w EJ as a lock for the first pairing then what... Lindholm and Miro?
