If the decision is between Hayes and Blandisi, it better be Blandisi |

Well, if it's THAT close of a decision wouldn't the Devils keep and play Hayes and simply send Blandisi to the minors? They only signed Hayes to a PTO, right? |

Yes he's signed to a PTO but that would be idiotic Blandisi has had a strong camp and has earned a chance to stick with the big club would be stupid to hand what he's worked for to Hayes who's on a PTO |

I thought we shoulda taken him instead of trading down to McLeod... But I certainly trust the scouts more then me. Just the size was pretty tantalizing. . |

You guys notice we keep sending out better split squad out of town while icing the weaker lineup against the Rangers and Islanders? What's up with that? |

I was wondering this too. Only thing I could think of is someone is more likely to take a cheap shot/get in a fight during a rivalry game so maybe they're trying to protect the regulars from potential injury or keep someone like Hischier from taking a cheap shot from a Rags player with no likelihood of making the team but trying to make a name for themselves? |

interesting.
so basically icing our starting lineup vs the Sense, and seeing if Blandisi can carry the team vs NY lol. Well, if him, Wood, Noesen, and Hayes can carry the team.
Also curious to see how Bratt does on the right wing instead of the left, and what Gignac can offer on Henrique's left.
Greene-Santini is intriguing. worth a try. Mueller-Prout is also intriguing. If that pair is strong, maybe we stick with it?
we'll see what Lovejoy and Strait give us tonight. I feel like those are 2 guys that have had their day pass them by, yet are still getting opportunities because of veteran status. Moore is no superstar either..
should be interesting. hopefully I can catch some of it at work lol. |

I'd be annoyed if Noesen and Blandisi didn't make opening night lineup, they've both been good.
Replace Gignac with Quenneville on that line. I bet Quenneville ends up as the RW and Bratt stays at LW. Q'ville has played RW before in Albany. |

Ya Brown has played solid hockey. Would have been interesting to see him on a physically unmovable 3rd line featuring boyle and wood. However, I think the scouts look at Brown's speed as a limiting factor. 82 fast-paced games might criple the kid down the road. But who knows, Thorton, Tavares, Jags, and a few others have proven that you don't need speed to dominate on a first line role. |

I don't know about stupid, I'm just saying you have control/rights with Blandisi whereas Hayes isn't really a member the team just yet. That's all. I like Blandisi's game, I just hope he can show it consistently this year...and lay off the diving. |

I think with the game against the Sens it's also a fundraiser and more fan experience so they wanted to bring more of the NHL team up, but that's just a guess |

Also Sens are undefeated in preseason and play a very good defensive game maybe the coaching staff wants to see how they play against them |

He was drafted in the 4th round and it was before his breakout 62 goal season which broke Stamko's record. So the scouts weren't thinking he was such a big deal... and he's not. |

Just curious who the (frank) would want any defense man that couldn't make our team ? I thought everyone every where had dubbed us the worst defense in the league so what does that say about a guy who can't make our d core ?
On another note any body hear anything about our Russian prospects ? Rykov seems like he is up with Bratt and Anderson as a top prospect we have that is likely a sleeper player and Maltsev also seemed like an interesting player/pick. You would think we wouldn't have such a hard time getting a player like Rykov to come at least try out as he could very likely make the team judging from his production in the KHL. |

I believe he has 2 or so more years on a Khl deal |
