Please answer four questions:
Do you think we have more depth than last year? No
Do you think we have more talent on the defensive pairings? Yes
Do you think we lost any key talent from last year, in any aspect of the team? We still have the same ones but we needed to add more t but we needed to add more talent
Do you think any of our players from last year are likely to be significantly worse than last year?
Jacks the only one I see going bananas
- Der Kaiser
So basically right now we have an average team just like last year we needed to add more talent in the summer at the forward position in my opinion that was the huge struggle last year with jack |

it's not a damning indictment of him as a prospect |

Kane Eichel Pommer
Girgensons ROR Okposo
Pouliott Reinhart Griffith
Moulson Josefson Larsson
Nolan
I'd like to see Nolan play in that lineup over Moulson depending on who they are playing...But I think that is the lineup going forward at least until they move Reinhart back on Eichel's wing
Malone Nylander E-Rod are still here but are all hurt
On defense
Risto Scandella
Bowl U Bogo
Falk Gorges
McCabe Tennyson
Antipin
Not in any particular pairings there
McCabe Scandella are still banged up and who knows with Bogo |

Once Malone E-Rod and Nylander get healthy Rochester should be a very good team
E-Rod might end up staying here but Malone and Nylander will get sent down.
Bailey, Baptiste, Fasching, Nylander should all dominate |

We have more depth, we have better D.
Last season We were in the hunt and close to in the playoffs as late as February
we should be fresher come the playoff push, so unless we see guys having a significant drop off, I think we have reason to be optimistic. |

Weber is gone.
Gorges and Molson have been out of the lineup
Bogo has been pretty good
Kane learned to stay away from the gold diggers.
GMTM and Disco got poopcanned already.
Risto can only get so much focus.
We’re running out of people to complain about. |

Definitely doesn't look that good. Think he's better on Eichel's wing and moving Pommer down |

This sort of thinking implies no one else got better and that last years team actually had some kind of shot which we both know isnt remotely true given the coaching and the blueline.
We have tons of reasons to be optimistic starting with the guy in charge. But its going to take more than year and Gerbe is right, even if the core plays just as well which they probably will, its still short a difference maker or two. |

He just needs to grow out his horn a little further, he'll get there. On paper it makes sense, but it's been a while since he played C...if we're buying into an acclimation period, I think he deserves a little more time. I'd love to see him be dominating 3C with some PP time.
Edit: I would put him back with Eichel and move Pommer down, but we really need E-Rod back for that to be feasible. |

I’m not buying tickets to a cup Parade, but I disagree. I think we make the playoffs this year. |

Housley on skunk at center: "If we can get that third and fourth line to give us some secondary scoring which I think Sam can provide, that would really help our team."
right now I have some concerns on their primary scoring...not grave concerns, mind you, but averaging two goals/game in the preseason, with the top two lines scoring two goals, is something that caught my eye |

Me too. Jack, Ryan and Kyle all had some great shifts, but not solid games. Also, not happy with the PP results. You would imagine that with their success last year the plan would be: don't change anything.
Acclimation period better be coming to the end on that. I'm of the mind that we better start off well if we want playoffs this year. A bad start could very well be the difference. |
