All three will make terrible mistakes and go through slumps, but I'm actually confident that Weight will turn those negatives into positives and force them to learn from them rather than just banish them to the press box, AHL, or juniors.

That's a weird, confident feeling I have in regards to the guy behind the bench.

Pretty damn good, so far. Doesn't mean he'll be great all year but nothing to be concerned about up to this point.

everyone keeps talking about those 3 forwards. to me its more about the other 3 young players pulock mayfield and pelech. all 3 have been very steady in the pre -season and can't wait for them to show the rest of the nhl what they have. i hope coach finds a way to keep them all active in games and not have them sitting for a long period of time in the press box. me personally would have 2 in the lineup every game.

We're going to shock a lot of doubters this year.

Pulock has been anything but steady in the preseason.

I also have very little faith that Mayfield and Pelech will be legitimate options as full-time NHL'ers that positively contribute to the team.

Me too. Don't take this personally, because the Flames are actually one of my favorite non-Islander teams, but I kinda hope you guys fail miserably because I want those picks we got for Hamonic to be as high as possible.

But I promise I will go right back to rooting for you next season, no matter what.

New coach, our top four prospects all making the big club out of camp...these are things to be excited about. Islander fans don't have to be miserable and downtrodden all the time, despite the prevailing sentiment.

The defense could be very much different than I listed. Pulock had a bad preseason. Pulock/Pelech/Mayfield all require waivers so Isles will be carrying 8 defensemen, unless a trade is made.
