I have noticed a change in your tone with the team...you are anything but a homer, yet in the past optimism was strong in your writing...I'm noticing a sense of "it is what it is" lately...as evidenced below

"Regardless of who's stepping in on defense, the Sabres need their best players to step up, most notably Jack Eichel and Ryan O'Reilly. We've heard the talk but have yet to see the walk."

I have been very critical of this team this year for reasons expressed frequently -- summarized as its time to put up or shut up for the core players, and very notably Eichel needs to start carrying this team. For me it was the rather obvious revolt by certain players last season.
