Thanks Jan.
Zib's 5th? Man, that's not good, he might be out for months. There really isn't an option in the Pack to call up.
As much as he doesn't want to, move JT back to center.
Keep Sjkei and Shat together.
Rather have Kampfer in over Holden, but we all know how AV works. Or is that Ruff? Does he prefer Holden over Kampfer?
Hank should have a solid game. If he doesn't I get my chops busted by the only Canes fan in NJ. |

If Zib out for extended period of time....season is over
NYR has no where near enough depth up the middle to absorb his loss, unless a trade is made, and not a minor league trade either. Need a Center who is established |

Right under our noses and never even sniffed out this deal N J ....
Henrique ? solid player is the cost to fix your weaknesses and deal from strength
Gorts ? what have you done to fix our weakness? center ?
and there ya go... bare naked exposed ,we got exactly what we deserve ...
losing Z bad just opens up the leverage meter for the other teams ...
thank god the lack of games now is a great time to deal with but for real as
a fan i have seen the train a comin..for NY to leave the season so up in the air when you have such a good core that needs a fix with the D surplus ....
stop gap with a decent 3rd line center with a pick " NOOOO
make the BIG move and get the top center you can with D surplus ...NOOO
N J congrats ..N Y R shame on you riskin the whole season with this act...
You pay 4 mill for smith ? when you could have taken that $$ added some from the cap (2 mill) and gotten a very good center for 4-5 mill and still have sum for a griity type 4 th liner
when the position(center) which has gotten the most demanding with the speed 2 way systems employed in recent yrs is stripped down (see Oscar & STep moves) one naturally thinks it will be rebuilt ? quickly? had the resources
just allocated them different than common sense would dictate ...
NYR has sum nerve putting a flawed team all season on ice and we the dimb ass fans buying it... I called it from the start , this summer as i anxousily waited to hear the news (plan) on how the NYR center slots were being re built ?
Well the answer now is clear , lets not really go after the cup and lets try to take our time and use 17-18 as a rebuild type yr ? well all I got to say Is ... F U
if we hit the skids now or start the 500 type team it is with this line up
we deserve it all in spades with the apprehensive act compared to the real operators in the lg. ( PItt always in on the moves ) who get things done ...
Sad to hear Z bad ,get back healthy and soon,
D D is our answer with a Peter Holland riding in to help UGhhhhhhh |

I have seen a lot of retro complaining lately about losing Oscar Lindberg
Oscar didn't have a single point for Vegas in the whole month of November
last point he had was that goal at MSG on Halloween against the Rangers
he's not taking faceoffs, his minutes are being rapidly reduced
we didn't lose Mats Sundin here, and bottom line, Rangers couldnt do anything about losing him anyway |

The sky is falling!! The sky is falling!!
You have a tenuous grasp on reality. Keep screaming for a deal everyday. Meanwhile, the team has climbed out of the hole and are right in the middle of the fight.
And guess what, Pitt and Wash are no better than we are. |

You do know Gorton said they are rebuilding on the fly. Which means trying to stay competitive without trading away youth.
All your trade scenarios either would never happen, or would gut the youth. |

I'm not saying were a juggernaut. And yes, things are difficult. But guess what, here on Dec. 1 we are 1 point out of the first Wild Card with a game in hand. So, it could be a lot worse. i.e.: we have lots of good aspects to this team. You have been harping on our lack of centers for 6 months. Great centers don't grow on trees. If the right trade is there, I'm sure they will do their best to get it done. Until then, take a look in that rear view mirror and ask your self whether you are cheering for the team we have, or the team YOU think we should have. |

Now here is something I can get onboard with!!!
Knowing how he played here, if they can do a cheap swap and buy low, bring him back and put him with guys he is comfortable with and get him back to playing like he did last year which made him enticing to Vegas.
Also helps center depth, and he is cheap |

Just to play a bit of Devils advocate here, but how well did Oscar Lindberg really play for the Rangers? In his years with the club, what percentage of that time did he impress you with his play? I think we have a bit of a skewed view of Oscar because he played really well at the end of last season and into the playoffs. But, before that period, to me, he was pretty much a commodity grade fourth line center.
Don't get me wrong, I think Oscar could have found a new level at the end of last year, but I am not totally convinced of that either.

You're not wrong but I think if it's a real possibility then it is a really good example of low risk and decent/high reward. Vegas might not send him back for cheap though, since they might feel he is worth more to the Rangers than other teams. |

Very Fair. I'm not looking at him as a center on the top two lines. I think he would be good at 3C or 4C and think he adds value there for the Rangers who have a gap there.
I have never expected him to be an offensive star who will be relied on for his scoring, but more of a reliable two way player who you can trust to make the right play and you don't have to worry about from a defensive positioning / play standpoint.
And if you can get him back without giving much up (All depends on what Vegas would ask for) I think it is worth looking into.
Fair? |
