The Islanders sure gave the Caps some fits over the years. But is about time they get a new arena and stay where they belong !! (long over due) |

Statement from Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment:
It has been a great first year for NYCB LIVE, and we're excited by the amazing reception from the community who make this Long Island’s Coliseum. We're also proud to have received accolades, including...
... the recent ranking of No. 1 U.S. venue in Venues Today.
We are currently awaiting a response from the Islanders to our proposal to bring NHL games back home to the Coliseum on an interim basis. We understand the required approvals from all parties involved...
... to make that happen, and are prepared to facilitate any necessary enhancements.” |

...will finally put an end to all of the off the ice talk that has plagued this team for years. Now the national and Canadian media will finally have to discuss the on the ice product.
Nothing quite like the national media talking about your goaltending problems |

It's coming up on the next segment right after they finish with Lucic - Vukota
Actually he's doing surprisingly well this year, on pace for a 60+ point season.
The last couple years of his contract could get ugly though. |

I would love it if the isles left the barclays and played at the Coliseum until the new venue is built. Brooklyn never felt like home.......gotta be able to tailgate. |

Bettman has been pretty adamant that the Coliseum isn't a viable home for the Islanders, even as a temporary one. We'll see if he changes his tune on that now that this is "real". |

No matter what, its exciting to FINALLY have a home. I'm curious if the Coliseum isn't a viable option to Bettman because of the capacity? Its so silly to me, as it would be a real gesture to the fanbase (i.e suffolk county), and its short term. |

No reason for him not to. Unless he wants to maintain his persona as a manically greedy poopweasel. |
