Everyone needs to relax, a rough couple of games to be sure but the break will be nice.
No Scheifele and Lowry is a lot of size and talent up the middle to replace.
I’d like to see the Jets be bold and add a player or two |

Tavares for Myers, Little, Stanley, Lowry, 2018 1st, and a 2019 2nd (if Tavares re-signs).
Solves a lot of problems at once: gets rid of a problem contract (Little), gets rid of Myers, nobody talks about Stanley, and we probably win a cup with him around. Lowry is a throw-in to clear out the logjam for Petan and (potentially) Appleton next year. Honourable mention to Kristian Vesalainen.
For example:
Ehlers-Scheifele-Laine
Connor-Tavares-Wheeler
Perreault-Roslovic-Dano
Tanev-Copp-Armia
Morrissey-Trouba
Kulikov-Byfuglien
Enstrom-Poolman |

Great trade. We'll take everything you don't want on your team anymore for our franchise center.

Both games were similar in that the oppositon just skated, hard on every puck and the Jets just seemed slow and got beat to the puck, outbattled for the puck and beat reading the play or anticipated play. I was saying to myself that looks like they need an injection of bodies (Scheif, Lowry, Tanev) to get a recharge.
I mean the Chicago game could have went the other way as well. Chicago played very similar to the game in Wpg when they got on the Jets quick and never relented. But, the Chicago game Friday nite could have had a different outcome as there were posts at the end by Laine and Wheeler, Connor misses on the break. Last nite the Jets just looked plain tired. No one looked sharp.
I agree with PT, although Roslovic will and should have regular spot on the team next year, I am not sure it is a dose of Roslovic that they need right now. Let him come in at the start, get accustomed, climatized etc, and perfect his game and he will. But right now, I am not too worried as th Chicago game could have had a diferent outcome, last nite was a stinker. I actually thought Hutch might get the call on Friday as he has been so good against Chicago and then have Helle fresh for last nite, but I was wrong.
Let me ask this, would anyone else played Hutch on Friday? I would have but I am sitting in bed typing this so my opinion is meaningless, but want to know what others think.
We need Scheifs, Lowry and Tanev back. Maybe a trade for a forward, what about D? I have not been very impressed with our D in the last few games. 3 through 6 have been unimpressive since Buf and Enstom have come back. Kuli and Meyers have not looked too good either imop. I am not bashing them as everyone has off nites, but I have to say that Poolman and Chairot looked better or reliable than this current 3 - 6. Does anyone have an opinion on that statement. Let me have it if you think I am nuts but D lately has not impressed me much.

Second night of a back to back against one of the faster teams in the league. That after we played probably the fastest team/system in the league vs Chicago. Guys were worn out and it showed in the Corsi.
I think Tanev is a bigger loss than one would think. He constantly pressures the other team and forces mistakes and penalties. I miss him.
Moose seem to be losing a lot more since Roslovic got promoted. Its not a coincidence.
Team misses the physical presence of Chariot or Poolman vs Enstrom. Both of them were so much better at pinching in the o-zone to maintain the pressure.
Dano looks lost out there. Roslovic will quickly take his spot once injury bug subsides. Didn't really see that much from Lemeiux last night either other than the fact he was fresh legs.

And if Tavares doesn't sign a contract, we give up 3 starters, a prospect and a 1st round pick ? Meantime, we still keep Dano and pray for Petan to be NHL calibre ?
I'm glad Chevy is running the team and not you.....

Well, yeah. We don’t actually need any of the players going the other way, and with Tavares that 1st is a 25-31. Dano and Petan are already NHL caliber (Dano still carrying a line, Petan destroying the AHL) and objectively better than Lowry anyhow. Little isn’t doing much of anything this year. |

Roslovic and Lemieux with the Moose. Anyone know who’s back? Lowry just got IR’d, so I imagine it’s Tanev. Or could it maybe be... a Nic Petan?... |

Dano couldn’t carry a fishing line, and Petan is enjoying the same kind of success in the AHL that many undersized forwards have enjoyed.
Myers remains better than Poolman at this point in time. Little is just fine...needs to play with Wheeler. Lowry is the only big physical center that we have in the system. We need him, especially in the playoffs.
Trade bait: Enstrom, Dano, petan, Copp, Matthias, and Trouba if he won’t sign a contract . |

I’ve never seen so little information in such a long, all-encompassing comment. You literally didn’t provide a single piece of reasoning or evidence for any of what you said. |

At some point, the shoe is going to drop. Looks like mgmt wants a deep Moose team / contender there in the A, which is good depth for the big club but some of these players will need to graduate next year. Roslovic is over a 1 pt / game, Appleton is .92, Robinson .89, Petan is a 1 pt / game. I am not sure if any of these guys will get a regular spot with the big club this year but I can't see these guys as AHL next year either. Niku is .71, even Scarbossa is .71. Lemieux is a pt per game.
My point being here that at some point, there has to be some wheeling and dealing with these prospects in the A, and a boatload in junior, college and overseas and draft picks. The prospect pipeline is well stocked. Something has to happen at some point, it has to, it is just a question of when and who is getting traded for who? I am not so sure mgmt will start unloading AHL prospects now as I think they want a contender there for these youngguys to dominate or even win it all, but at some point, I beleive Chevy is going to wheel and deal like we are totally unacustom to seeing. Just my opinion. |

I think we need to find out whether Trouba wants to be here long term. If not, I am in favour of dealing him with prospects to acquire John Tavares.
If the Jets get an agreement from Tavares that he would sign here long term, I would trade the following to get him: Jacob Trouba, Mason Appelton, Eric Comrie, 2018 first and third round picks, plus a 2019 second round pick. Or I would be willing to just trade Trouba plus Petan for OEL, if that deal appears on the table.

Charlie. I think we all agree there are only 22 roster spots and we have a boatload of talent. The dilemma is that we also have a large core of players we want to keep and some who need to be signed to some term and that are going to be bumping up against the salary cap after next season. Therefore we can't just go and shop around for another marquee player for any term longer than 1 year ( end of 2018-19 season) because we wont have the cap room. So while Chevy can afford to part with some prospects for a rental in a cup run , guys like Hoffman, Stone, Tavares, etc...the really good trade to make from a franchise aspect is to package up three or four prospects and a guy like Copp or Lowry or Trouba and get an top notch RFA or a guy like Dahlen.....both who can play next season and yet are cheap on cap.

Dano produces at a higher rate, is by far the superior puck possession player (the one benefit of hitting: gaining possession), and is only slightly behind Lowry in the defensive side of things. |

You are the only person on the planet who'd take Dano over Lowry, do you think you are smarter than every single other person in hockey or out? Remember how many times I told you how wrong about postma you were? I do!!!! And I was right every time!!!!!!! And I'm right again!!!!!!! It's too bad you'll never admit it, but I still know!!!!!! No worries though Rexy, I am
Always here to help point you in the right direction |

Is it true someone said Dano is better than Lowry? And Petan is NHL ready?
Bonus thread of trading for Tavares is hilarious.....we attract who as free-agents? Almost no one and now we are going to convince Tavares to sign here for $12-$14 million per????
This is obviously not a serious person, or maybe someone’s kid got their phone.
