There has got to be a technology that could sync the different cameras down to about 1/1000 of a second to help compare different views. You measure the time when the puck crosses the line and compare with the second camera for the identical time in the game.
Even having a camera view showing the puck and skater together could be fractionally out as digital display 'writes' a screen differently than a frame-by-frame view.
The current review system is flawed in a few ways. |

Peter Tessier: Trouba and Jets Triumphant in Return
Jets beat the Blackhawks for the first time this season in 6-2 romp including 5 first period even strength goals - Peter.Tessier
Gotta say, I haven't been a big supporter of Dano, but his line with Raslovic and Tanev was fantastic last night. Lots of o-zone pressure. |

any reasonable leaf fan will concede that Matty is a bit of a band-aid this year, however it's just one season and he would still be picked before Laine if the draft was done again tomorrow |

That was something I should have touched on more- they were very good and very intriguing too. |

Aww. Did I strike a nerve with the Matthews quip?
Sorry, but nope. He's done. Garbage pick. What a waste of a first overall pick. Lou Lamoriello is a moron
When JVR goes, with the exception of Marleau, the Leafs will have the smallest forward corp in the NHL. Might as well change the name of the team to the Maple TimBits. They will have their ass handed to them on a nightly basis. After this year, the Timbits won't see the playoffs for twenty years.
Ridiculous, isn't it? |

Scary if true
Jets continue to impress and I just wanted to give a shout out to the much maligned Dano. I thought he was good last night. |

not a big Dano fan but he was noticeable last night. Same with Roslovic |

For Dano, he is doing the right thing when he gets an opportunity, work hard, hit everything you can, hard in on the puck, good for him. We have so many RFA's this year to sign and Illegal Curve was suggesting that there are too many players with not enough spots. Couple that with a new crop coming into the Moose, some players might even have to get waived. If that happens, some players will get plucked from the organization for nothing. So, if Dano is one of those players, he is playing hard when he gets his opportunity, make the most of it.
Nice to have Trouba back! His return is noticeable, Chevy, please pay up and make this guy part of the organization for the next 6 years or so. Trades should be considered only after we win the cup!
Special mention to Roslovic, out muscling the Hawks player for the puck, then skating his a$$ off and capping it with a goal. That kind of play will get the coaches attention!! |

The Dano scenario is going to be very intriguing because he's probably a guy who needs to be in a place where he can stake a claim to a regular roster spot. I'm not sure that's here. I'm also not sure why he would sign here again but he's an RFA so they have him unless he opts for arbitration.
I believe he will be traded and moved for a pick later I'm not sure the Jets can keep him and Petan either. |

Proud of the Dano-Roslovic duo. About time Dano got a chance to actually do something. A steady 5 minutes of Matt Hendricks every night will kill any linemate not named “Mathieu”.
Speaking of good players being killed by hilarious minutes and terrible linemates, Petan has gone right back to tearing through the AHL. It’s almost as if he’s good, or something.
Wheeler and Laine on the PP is probably something I’ll need to address as an addiction going forward. It’s just the best. If we get possession in the offensive zone, it’s basically gonna come down to whether Wheeler hits Laine or Scheifele. Either way, if the pass gets across, it’s over. Wheeler has struggled at times this year, usually due to being an overplayed tire-fire when he’s forced to be a centre, but he’s still elite as a RW. Love the guy. Stay on the wing.
Toby and Kulikov need to be back ASAP. Morrow and Chairot can’t play at this level. I’d also recommend putting Kulikov with Byfuglien, and Toby with the giraffe. Byfuglien has activated his “kill” mode, so he can carry Kuli to top 4 level. Myers is still hilariously overexposed on the defensive side of things, so maybe having Toby around can help stabilize him.
That said, I’m excited for the playoffs. When healthy, we have no holes (Unless Hendricks somehow still draws in). It’s now 100% down to the coaching. If Tanev, Myers, and Kulikov keep getting PK minutes, we’re in trouble. If the top line keeps getting overplayed because the 4th line is only getting 6 minutes, we’re in trouble. If Myers is any higher than #4 for ice time, we’re in trouble. I’m expecting to crush round 1 before losing to Nashville in round 2 via Paul Maurice, but I’ll gladly eat a crow the size of a 747 for a Cup win. |

Agree with much of what you said, with the "giraffe" being the exception. Meyers is a great shut down D. Nobody on that team can hold the blue-line boards as well, and his reach stifles any sniper coming down his wing. Not sure why you post so much negative anecdotes about this guy, but at this point in their careers, Meyers is far better than Enstrom at both ends of the ice. |

Because Myers is the only Jets dman bleeding shots against from the middle of the ice. That’s including Chiarot and Morrow. He’s brutal defensively, inconsistent as hell, and makes poor decisions with the puck on a shift by shift basis. He’s exactly the player people like to think Byfuglien is.
Enstrom is better than any Jet (aside from Trouba), and about 95% of the NHL, when it comes to defensive play. This is heavily evidenced. He bounced back big this year. All signs said he would, with him being uncharacteristicly average last year, but I didn’t expect him to as good as he is. |

Ilegal curve was speaking postively today of his play. They made a point of speaking about his play outside of his points and talked about the physicality he brings. |

Well, best get to like Chairot a whole lot more because Kuli is out for 8 weeks with back surgery.

Physical play is a bonus, not a necessity. Chiarot hits a lot because he’s told to, and he knows Mo loves it, not because it’s an effective option. If he isn’t gaining possession of the puck from the hit, he’s just taking himself out of the play*.
Point is: Chiarot does not contribute positively to any aspect or area of the game, and at 26, that points streak is likely his best run.
*there is some level of merit to being hitty in the playoffs. You’re not going to wear anyone but yourself down by being overly-physical during the regular season, but in a 7 game series, it does show. |
