It'll be a miracle if the Devils win with that lineup. That said I suppose it's a good idea to give some of the horses a rest. Can't say I won't be dissapointed that Hall won't get a chance to notch 40 and add to his terrific season.

I asked the same exact question.... I get Ovi is going for all 82 games and scoring lead and such.... but could you IMAGINE if he got hurt tonight (not at all wishing it, just saying)? How could a coach defend that?

I don’t get why Hynes isn’t icing the best possible lineup I know we can’t get home ice advantage but if we finish in the 2nd wild card we very well might play Boston which they should be trying to avoid

More has to go right for Boston for that to happen than not. Granted Hall could (God forbid) get hurt in game #1 just as easily, but at least it would be in a game that actually meant something. Hopefully the point is moot if the Rangers can give Philadelphia fans a heart attack with a regulation loss (meaning we can't drop) and have Florida setup for being 2 wins away from making playoffs....

Well boston needs some help for that to happen, if Tampa beats Carolina tonight then they clinch #1 seed, doesn't matter what Boston does

I dont mind so much. It keeps a few key players from getting injured, and it shows they aren't afraid of any matchup that may come. It also gives Cory a game where if he loses it wont be a total confidence killer because he's behind a watered down lineup.

It also gives them no recent real time Devs-vs-Caps matchup footage to review before a series if that matters at all.

You rest players if you think that all of the match ups are the same. But I don't think we're in such a good position that we just don't care.
