wow...who saw that coming? - Michael Pachla
Like I said, it will be interesting. Heard some of the reporters, mainly Biron, said that Sam was an example of listening in the second half. Instead of trying it his own way, he worked with what the coaches were saying.

you didn't reed the blog, did you?
During locker cleanout when asked how it turned around, Reinhart told the gathered media, "The biggest thing for me was, I wasn't happy with the way anything was going and I just said to myself, 'Screw it, I'm playing my game.' I think it's more important for me to play my game, it's more beneficial to me and the team. I think it was important for me to get back to what I do best."
To whom or what was he referring to when he said, "screw it?" |

Good work grabbing that quote. Maybe it's just awkwardly worded, but it raises an eye brow for sure. |

I just found it real interesting...am of the opinion that Housley and his coaching staff really messed him up early in the season by playing him at center and messing with the no. 1 pp unit in the league last year...
when using that as backdrop, and seeing where the sabres were at the beginning of 2018, kinda makes you wonder what exactly he was saying there |

They should sign him to a deal IMO. Good player and stays relatively healthy. Lots of upside. |

Jonas Johansson bumped back down to the echl...
cyclones drop game-1 of their first round series at fort wayne to the komets, 4-3 in 2ot...
Johansson stops 64 of 68 shots while his counterpart stops three of 26... |

I’m sure it would be cheaper then what they paid Okposo and Moulson. The Sabres need to lay off the big priced free agents this year. Time to see what Bailey, Nylander, Baptiste, Guhle ect ect can do next season full time. Can’t be worst then this year.

I said the other day that it feel like a lot of vague criticisms JB/Phil/GMTM/Dan make against this team are directed toward Sam (and others, of course). That quote felt like Sam shooting back.

Well, this should get really interesting. But at least we won't be reading or writing about fake leader ROR is for about 20 minutes.
I would like to see them sign Sam to a 2-year bridge deal. Something between $3.5 and $4.0 million. If he is more than just a second half wonder, then he will get paid for it in two years. If he was a second half wonder, then they can still trade a young player on a reasonable contract to another team. Having said all of the above, if they can parlay Sam as part of a package to land a great young D-man this summer then i would be all for that as well. |

I think term is the biggie...have thought 3rs./$12-14M would be about right...when he's done he's still only 25 and can cash in on a big payday if warranted |

he looked like a totally different player in the second half, actually looked the part of being the second-overall pick in 2014 |

I think they settle on 2 years. Team would want 3, Sam would be better with 1. |

Sam would like that, assuming a long term deal isn't an option. It makes him arb eligible, which is a little dangerous. Hate to think RoR is offering advice on such things.
