So Bjugstad and Mescherin plus a pick for Pacioretty? |

Bjugstad, an excellent third liner, and Mascherin, a good yet very small prospect for a perennial 30 goal scorer who has a good chance of re-signing with the team? I think you're undervaluing Pacioretty. Something more fair would have to include a big prospect (Tippett, Borgstrom, Heponiemi) for Pacioretty in my opinion |

You ask too much & you will be losing him July 1/2019 for nothing. But if you wait until next trade deadline, & Florida is in a playoff position, you may get a lottery protected first & another prospect & maybe a conditional pick then. |

MTL will want young C, D. Bjugstad is OK but not a top C, they would rather have a 1st rounder and draft somebody who could fit in that role, imo. So, something like: Mascherin, Gildon and a 1st (15th overall) seems like that would get it done. Pacs is on last year and MTL is rebuilding. This would get them some solid young pieces.
Bigger issue for MTL is what to do about Price and Weber, as they obviously do not fit the plan. Unless they just want to stay because they like the area, then they should find a way to trade them out. I could see NYI making a run to make the case to Tavares to resign. For instance, they could send this year's #10 and #12, and HoSang, Soderstrom (G prospect), Aho (D prospect) and Ladd (salary needs to move) for Price and Weber. MTL could probably flip Ladd for a mid-rounder if they retain some salary.
Pulling both moves off would get MTL 5 solid prospects and another 3 first round picks in the top 15 this year, giving them #4, 10, 12, 15. That's a very quick way to rebuild! |

"As reported by Eklund"
Dude, I know you're new here and looking to impress, but if you want any credibility, you don't use Eklund as a source or base an article on one of his "roomers".... |

LOL
At their inflated contracts and declining abilities, Price and Weber may have negative value by now

I've been around Hockeybuzz since 2006 so I'm not new Rumors are rumors...I simply used what was rumored and wrote some potential thoughts around what a trade might be. Plus, what other Florida Panthers news is there floating around right now |

Fair enough!
Panthers seem like a good fit for Pacioretty, but so does Calgary. |

I like the thought, even though I don't think Price will net you that much. the 2 first rounders, Beauvillier and a big cap dump (e.g. Ladd)

Ummmm? So Tallon is going to offer up a player who is 5 years younger, cheaper, and had 10 more points this year? Plus throw in something else? I don't see it. Paccy is likely going to earn a similar return to other older players with a few talents but weak numbers. That means a pick, a decent prospect, a salary dump and maybe a toss-in pick. If Tallon trades a roster player, you are going to expect a guy with either salary or injury issues, they really don't have many 30 year olds.
Panthers have some depth on D, they have some decent picks bottlenecked behind their young forwards. That is likely where things would go. |

So... because Patches had ONE bad injury riddled season 'by the numbers' he is now worthless.
Good to know.
