Getting rid of Bogosian and getting a top pair RD to play with Dahlin would put our blue line in great shape.
Going into next year with Risto, Bogo anchoring the top 2 RD spots is still a glaring weakness |

Bogo is here to stay. No one wants our trash
Players I would target
Hjarlmarsson
Grabner
Hagelin
Sobotka |

am of the opinion that they won't be serious playoff contenders so a year with the Rasmi uptop might not be all that bad...
who knows, risto might even surprise you |

nelson reminds me of hjarlmarsson and I think he and Scandella could make a pretty good second pair |

You absolutely do not want Grabner. Don't fall for it like we did |

**IF** the rumors are true, and he's not very coachable, and just does his own thing, I want him nowhere near Dahlin. |

I am going after Hjalmarsson(Swede) to mentor and pair with Dahlin. 32nd+ McCabe?
The problem with Hammer is next year is his last year on his contract. |

I could see Grabner with Eichel. Fast, good shot, play left wing and penalty kill.
4 x 15m is what I would offer. Don't have a problem with that kind of money. Won't hurt the team.
If you saw our winger depth you would understand |

It is amazing how one guy, granted a potentially exceptional defense man, makes the Sabres' lousy blue line suddenly look much better. - The Don
He is compared by some to McDavid of the defence.
Lidstrom said Dahlin is better at the same age.
I will buy it |

yeah...could be true...and if so, I think botts will be thinking the same thing |

An uncoachable player playing 25-30 minutes a game...I call bullsheet.
If it was Paul Hamilton he is probably just looking for attention |

Friedman - I think the end of the season was so jarring for the #Sabres. With what was said and what happened, there are some questions as if O'Reilly is available. |

In Botts we trust.
He and Housley know if someone is a problem on the ice or in the locker room. That is the only way I see ROR or Risto being moved.
Having those two on the team allows for others to develop at their own pace. No way I see either being moved unless the return is unbelievable or they really have been deemed detrimental to the team. |

Two Coaches and GM's have talked about reducing his ice time.
Our defense has been so bad, they can't.

They talked about reducing his ice time not because he is uncoachable but because his play is best at 20-22 minutes a game.
Its nonsense and I think Paul Hamilton retracted his comments.

I assume Botts/Housely are sketching out the defense without Bogo beyond game 10. The Bogonator just can't stay healthy.
Assuming no trades or UFA signings, the line-up you mentioned looks much better than this year. In terms of help for Rochester, don't forget the impending signing of Lawrence Pilut. Pilut just won the best defenceman award in the Swedish elite league. |

true...but they talked about dropping it frome 25-26 down to 22-23, which is still top-pairing minutes |

Good comparison for Nelson.
Nice write up, who was the last rookie D to step into the league and play top line minutes?
I don’t see Bogo making it through training camp.
Guhle will earn a spot |

What would it take to get 3 from Montreal?
Risto and ROR for 3rd overall and Galchenyuk
Not enough? - Stripes77

If it’s not true, then it’s not true.
I don’t think it’s the end of the world if Ristolainen is best suited for 2nd pair/ 2nd PP role.
If anything it gets the possibilities of Bogosian on our 2nd pair out the window |
