Sure the Oilers aren't deep on wing. But why would the trade what is potentially there best Dman. Oilers arent at a position on strength on the back end to move Klefbom. Im sure they will let you have Russell for a bag of skittles.

Who cares who is right about contacting him? Key thing that Friedman said is “it’s not going to happen”. And this has been known for a while since he did an interview stating what his main criteria will be. The city and the fit for his family. His daughter is a competitive gymnast. His one son is a huge football player. Edmonton doesn’t have the elite programs his kids and wife want. End of story. Move on to another option.
