Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks continue 2017 draft signing spree with Petrus Palmu Just three days after inking 2017 fifth-overall draft pick Elias Pettersson to his entry-level contract, the Vancouver Canucks continued their signing spree by inking sixth-rounder Petrus Palmu to his first deal.

According to league conversion rates. He’ll put up -40 points in the NHL

Does anyone have a link to when Edler said that if the Canucks approached him to waive he would consider it as he doesn't want to play for a team that does not want him on it?

Interesting...hadn't heard that. How does he know the team doesn't want him?

This to me would have more to do with the Sedins retiring and Edler seeing the changes coming...

I must admit, it's nice to have some prospects again, it's been a long time since the Nucks had a stable of kids signed and drafted by them.

Not all of them will become nhlers, most likely, but we're starting to see a home grown team again like the late 2008/9/10 seasons.

Those great early 2002/3 teams were largely put together by trades, which is harder to do now, just gotta continue to embrace sucking and hope for the best

all I know is that "strategy" was horrible and that's not just hindsight, plenty of people were sceptical about it when those moves were being made and were told to stop “freaking out” and "wait and see"

now players from those draft years are starting to crack the NHL or are already in the NHL and most of the guys Benning traded those picks for aren't even on this team. Sven Baertschi was the only "age gap" filler that actually worked out, and a decent amount of fans are okay with him being traded away now lol

hopefully a lesson learned for this entire organization/fanbase, including Benning

Granlund wasn't a bad age gap filler either

Disgraceful, really, just disgraceful they only have six picks right now. He always backs himself into a corner and either gets taken advantage of, or other GM won't help him out because they know he's desperate.

100% but his role did change this year. But as you said every year there is a player like him. He sure was better than Vey
