Agreed. he was an important player for the leafs. won a lot of faceoffs. i would hate it if the nucks won the bozak sweeps. |

agreed, 35-36 year old bozak will be a better depth signing for the playoff run in 2022 |

Edmonton are looking for D |

I’d do OJ and a 5th 😀 - canucksfan1944
juolevi would probably work out better in carolina. lots of shelter, little pressure which would give him time to develop. (not saying he wont succeed in van, but he has enormous pressure to be really good as the only bluechip d prospect) |

I like OJ but I would trade him to Car for Hanifin. We probably add, but not a lot. with pp1 time Hanifin could be a 50pt guy here. |

Bozek to the Nucks as the Nucks don't have a second line center (well technically that should be Horvat).
Hanifin would be a great trade for Vancouver, but should be quite something more than the 7th I imagine. |

id imagine VAN would have to add considerably, especially considering forwards like Pettersson and Gaudette wouldn't be available. OJ and the 7th is a start, maybe throw in another pick or prospect. All depends on what/when hanifin signs for |

Yeah.....no thanks. I'm not even a huge OJ fan but he's still a top prospect, OJ + 7th alone is huge overpay for Hanifin.
Dougie Hamilton went for less than that and he's better than Hanifin.
Hanifin is a nice offensive dman to have on the 2nd pair, but he's not some game breaker offensively and apparently his defensive game still needs a lot of work. |

let's just be reasonable for a minute.
signing him to more than 3-4 years is probably too risky. you need to move on from this.
i think a 4 year deal would work out really well. |

OJ + a small add should be more than enough for Hanifin. |

Not that it will happen but ownership will want this team back in the PO's for the 2020-2021 season for the teams 50 year anniversary. Moves will be made to try to make this happen you can bank on it. |

Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks reportedly interested in Noah Hanifin from Carolina
As the 2018 NHL scouting combine rolls on, there's a chance that the Vancouver Canucks' seventh-overall pick might be in play in a possible trade for defenseman Noah Hanifin of the Carolina Hurricanes. - Carol Schram
Hi Carol,
As far as the "tight grip on the wallet" thing goes, as I understand it the team had a budget in mind for what they were willing to spend on front office staff, and already had Paul Krepelka and Rick Dudley in mind as the guys they wanted to add.
So they put out feelers to see if they could get anybody to bite on the GM job with what remained of the front office budget, and if not, well, they just took that cash and split it between Waddell (to add on the extra title) and Dudley to convince him to give up his spot with the Canadiens. |
