Carol Schram: Fitness testing at NHL Scouting Combine offers limited insight on prospects The NHL Scouting Combine has come and gone with no earth-shattering revelations about the fitness or the character of the defensemen that are expected to be clustered around the Vancouver Canucks' seventh-overall pick.

Pretty accurate about the SN talking heads although they did add some insight to some of the prospects

I know I will get roasted for this but I would be okay with Demko for Hanifin. I have heard Kevin Woodley's break down a few times this year and he sees some flaws in his game.

Nothing horrible but he says put on the brakes of the expectations with him. He says there are some noticeable holes in his game and he needs more time. Basically Demko is not as ready as most think.

Most non-Canes/Nucks fans would say that’s a better deal for the Canucks lol

You'll pucker up at Hanifin's asking price.

Does JB have the stones to pull a deal like that off?

I think it is better too.

I don't think our back ends stinks but I don't think it is good either. Until the scoring from the forwards and D kick in you could have Terry Sawchuk in there and he will still get bombed. This team needs more attack.

We also forget that Matt Brassard is a RHD who last year had 15G 51 pts in 67 games with Oshawa

Brassards defence is probably somewhere between Merkley and Boqvist. Except at 19 instead of 17.

Personally I stay away from Hanifin for the 7th and or for any of our core prospects. If they want some “B” level guys then sure, but that’s not the case!

Absolutely. Trading Demko would be amongst the stupidest of stupid things that Benning has done.

I believe Hanifin is the fourth D on the canes depth chart. Seventh overall should get you more than that. Trading the Canucks top rated goaltending prospect for a number four d-man doesn't make sense to me either. Use the pick. It will be some time before they draft this high again. Best player available

Bruce Garrioch: The Senators are bringing Brady Tkachuk to Ottawa next week for more testing and to meet with GM Pierre Dorion.

On Dominik Bokk …

Dhiren Mahiban: Prince Albert of the WHL own the rights to Dominik Bokk, but he is hoping that he can get his rights moved to the OHL. He has a contract in the SHL for next season. Bokk said that Oilers Leon Draisaitl has been trying to sell him on playing with Prince Albert, but he would prefer to play in the OHL.

This kind of annoys me. Who says he doesn't do that to an NHL team.
