About Allison....I remember when ACL’s were a 12 month recovery and a 2 year period to get it back to normal time frame....now theses guys are back in 9 months. Hopefully Allison has a big year and picks up we’re he left off. From everything we read about the kid, it appears he has a good shot at being a pretty good pro.

I tore my ACL in 2001. I wish I had been back that fast just climbing steps.

Stastny (since I don't think they have much shot at JVR) and possibly a bottom six winger. Starting to think they don't sign a D, but we will see.

Do you have any idea if they will go back to the 9-53 pairing or do you think we will see 53-8/9-47 due to Gudas and Hagg? de Haan is such a good replacement for AMac, though I don't recall seeing him play much of the right side. I would think he would be willing to take a short deal to prove himself healthy, but I think the ideal scenario is that he is replacing MacDonald (which I don't really see the Flyers prioritizing)

In the pre-cap days the Flyers would've been all over Tavares, damn salary cap, I miss those days

Morgan Rielly only missed five months when he toe his ACL in his draft season. Some ACL injuries are more severe than others.

Don't go after D. Sanheim made the team. Manning is out. Sanheim is a Flyer now.

In terms of forwards, I would actually sign a fourth line center. Someone capable on the PK and really good faceoff guy. Laughton might not be ready to play outside of a 4th line role but I'm willing to take the gamble. Ideally, we would also pick up a scoring winger but I'll understand if we don't.

See ya, Flip. Thanks for Sushko and Kalynuk.

3 x $7m would be a good deal for Stastny. The Flyers can easily afford that kind of cap hit, and he'd only be 35 when it expired.

I'm fluent in English, Great Britain, and Irish. Perhaps I could help the young lad learn the language.

Wow, if someone is willing to offer Stastny 7 aav, I say more power to them. I just hope its not the flyers.

Why? They would still be nowhere near the cap ceiling.

If you sign Stastny for that cap hit, I feel like you have to at least match that for Simmonds.

I love Stastny but not at a $7m AAV. What does that mean for a Simmonds extension?

It would be flat out disrespectful to offer him anything less than that.

Not if you're signing Simmonds to longer term

Because he is nowhere near being worth 7 million aav in my opinion. And that pretty much puts Simmonds in the 8 million stratosphere.

I like Stastny but no thanks.

I would definitely do 2 x 7m for Statsny but 3 is a little much for me unless it's front loaded in the first two years and then around 5m in year 3 so he could be reasonably traded if need be.

The only way it puts Simmonds in the 8m stratosphere is if you're only giving him 2-3 years.

The Flyers should not sign Simmonds to anything longer than 4 years imo. Even if it jacks up the AAV.

If he wants 5 or 6 you trade him at the deadline or the draft.

The team cant be giving out long term deals to players in their 30's.

I would however, sign him to the 3 years 7 million in a heartbeat.

Term is a way bigger worry to me than cap hit where Simmonds is concerned.

If you are paying Stastny 7 it will.
