I was at this game but didn't see any of it go down. Very few fans could see it in the tunnel. My recollection is that Schonfield was suspended BEFORE anyone knew the confrontation had been recorded.... which in 1988 wasn't an assumed thing like now. So it wasn't just about 'due process' but that Lou Lamoriello had evidence showing Schonfield had not pushed Koharski.
It seemed like the Devils were in Koharski's dog house for years after this.
