Strong play aside, something has got to happen with Rask, Krejci or Backes. These contracts are gong to severely hinder this team. The Providence guys played well enough to get the W.
Possibly package Carlo with one of the three for a big time forward? Who knows... |

Krech is a point a game player.
Agree about the other 2 though. |

Spooner is not who we thought he'd be. |

What does Krejci have to do to earn some respect? Without him, there would actually be ZERO secondary scoring. Sure he’s overpaid but he got signed after leading playoff scoring 2/3 years. It happens. His contract is a sunk cost. He is a good 2C. |

Never did lol. I’m curious to see what his total production was while not on the PP. I’m sure playing pass with Bergy and Krug boosted his numbers. 1st rd pick + OK D prospect for Nash and Beleskey dump.
Wasn’t a bad trade |

He'll probably end up on a line with McDavid and end up scoring 40 this year. |

No idea what the issue is with people busting Krejcis chops all the time on here.
They seemed to be pissed that he's our highest paid player and the money is coming out of their personal accounts.
He's paid what he is because that's what the market said at the time, plus we got a (frank) of a deal on Bergy and Marchand.
Krejci is a great 2 way player and is our second best centerman, he can quarter back the PP when needed and slip into the first line quite well. Who are we going to be that's as good if we traded man for man? Dump him and bring up who?
Who do we have in the AHL that is anywhere near as good overall?

How can you possibly say that wasn't a bad trade? The Bruins gave up Spooner, a 1st round pick, a good D prospect, AND kept half of Beleskey's salary for practically nothing out of Rick Nash, and have nothing to show for it now.

Stop being the Clay Buccholz of the team, stay relatively healthy, live up to that putrid contract.
Especially with Bergeron being hurt. |

Nash was concussed and is now done as a result. You can't really predict that. It was an overpayment but the team deserved to have management go out and make a move to improve the top 6 .Bear in mind teams always overpay at the deadline. That's the market. What would have been your move and what were you giving up?
Nash is not the guy I would've gone after. I would've rented Vanek or Grabner. |

I feel like Lindgren would've made the team over Zboril at this point. That 2015 draft is looking really bad Don. |

Yeah, I figured that was the sentiment... but it still doesn't make the trade any better. |

Yes, I agree with what you're saying about management owing it to the team to try and compete and add a piece at the deadline last year. I was really hoping they would target a top 4 d-man, as I thought the offense was fine and they needed more help on the back end. If it was going to be a forward, I was interested in Kane (though nobody in here liked that idea), and Vanek. You could have gotten Vanek for literal pennies on the dollar compared to Nash, and probably would have netted a similar result. But I know their interest was around getting a defensively responsible winger to play in the top 6, so maybe Vanek and Kane didn't fit that bill.
Whatever... it is what it is at this point, and there's no going back... all I'm saying is people shouldn't pretend it was this great deal simply because it moved Spooner off the team. They could have found other ways to do that while doing a better job of managing assets. |
