Very cool re your nephew’s book. Guess quality writing must run in your family.
I’m still guessing that Fletcher’s first trade as Flyers GM will be to acquire a goalie. My money is on a deal with Chicago for Crawford. |

If they do look to Chicago I wouldn't mind trying something bigger and getting Anisimov as well. |

I'd be ok with this especially in view of crawfords contract. I wonder what he'd want for a 2 yr extension?
I like the idea of a larger deal to shake up the core. I think that has to happen to change chemistry. |

Re Quick
He is an amazing goalie, no doubt about. However his best years are likely behind him, and there are a lot of years left on his deal. I’m really not interested in acquiring anyone who is signed beyond the 20-21 season. |

I've always liked quick but the injuries of late concern me. He plays such an athletic style that this could be the trend. We'd be losing it if he's hurt as much as neuvy |

If it is Quick it better be for a 4th rounder and B level prospect and the Kings better eat 50% of the money.
Only way I would be happy with Quick is if it was for cheap(in what we are giving and the amount of money left)

Would work for me, but it might make the deal too costly for the Flyers to do. |

There's still every reason to think hart can develop into a solid NHL tender, and like you say the long deal could become an issue. |

I saw Hart play recently and he looked fantastic. In fact, he’s played extremely well for about a month now. I think he’s the real deal. I can see him in a 25-30 start backup role in 19-20 and ready for the top job in 20-21. This is why I’d look to pick up Crawford. He can be the veteran starter in 19-20 and then the Flyers can go the FA route to sign a vet to back up Hart in 20-21 |

I think you're going to see an aggressive play by fletch. It'll probably be by flipping picks and probably prospects. Frost or farrabee and maybe even a young roster player might go. If they want a short term fix that's how they're going to have to do it. You're not going to salvage the season by sending simmer out at the deadline.

Thanks for that. I've been reading about him but have not seen him. Great news and it doesn't surprise me in the least. I hope his confidence keeps growing, and yes, Maybe next year we see him up. That may be the best news flyers fans he told this year.
Crawford is fine by me depending on cost. |

No to quick. Unless it's for very little or we get someone like toffoli muzzin with him. And even than cost would have to be right.
Crawford has so many ups and downs and behind our shell of a defense I dont know that he would be anything more than a modest improvement. Anisimov would be nice but a new #1 goalie even pending ufa and their young good contract 2c (better suited 3c). I cant imagine that would be cheap. |

If they move Frost, Farabee or their 1st in 2019 for a short term fix, I’ll be pissed. That would be shortsighted and foolish. Rather see them move Simmonds to a contender for a late 1st and use that pick to acquire some immediate help. |

We better be getting someone 26 or younger and a proven all star if we are moving one our top prospects. |

Oh. I agree. I'll be furious. Great that they wanted hextall out but they should not deviate too much from his plan or I will lose it. This has to be built correctly and long term. I'd personally not send out any prospects or picks this year and look to accumulate more. Be aggressive at the draft and ufa with a view to changing the chemistry and addressing goaltending.
Teams are built at the draft and supplemented with ufa. Not by mid season desperation moves when other gm s know they've got you bent over a barrel. |

When Elliott comes back. Hopefully he’s fully recovered. I want to see them give Elliott/stolarz a legitimate shot to hold the nets this year. Our crap division might doom fletcher into making a hasty trade. |

I don't see that happening. I could see him maybe move a lesser prospect like maybe Vorobeyv or maybe Ratcliff.
I wonder if Fletcher would look back to his old stopping ground and check on Coyle. I have read he is available. I know he's had a down year but he is 6'3" and could play center on the 3rd line. |

I would LOVE Coyle depending on cost. He has 1 more year so he can also help transition a rookie center next year as well replace lehtera at 4c with a guy like vorobyov and Coyle can float between 2c 3c responsibilities.
However he would be a guy that allows our young guys develop and not a hump guy. |
