Never liked Cooper. When the Rangers played the Lightning in the playoffs, he never gave them an ounce of respect. Never once said, "give the Rangers credit, they played well". Ranger wins were only because his team made some mistakes. Same thing here, don't expect to get any respect from Cooper. |

You shouldn't.
It's not his job to give a poop about the other team or how they feel. His job is to make his team feel like they can destroy the opposition and then push them to do it. |

I'm not asking him to give a poop nor do I think its his job to. But if you watch just about any post game/series remarks by other coaches, you'll notice that they have enough respect for their opponent to give them credit. Sometimes you lose because the other team is just simply better, whether he chooses to acknowledge that or not. |

If you want to take it as a slight you can, but a President Trophy team that swept the season series 3-o while outscoring them 17-3 really only has themselves to blame. Of course the Jackets weren't going to lay down but it's obvious TB forgot on Wednesday there's more than 20 minutes in a hockey game. A lot of the mistakes leading to CBJ goals weren't forced by the opposition.
It goes to show that any NHL team is capable of beating another if the other team doesn't play smart. |

I think Tampa needs to see how the cbj react when they go on a full 60 minutes of relentless offence.
I'm guessing the mind set is that the Lightning feel like they've been undermined after what they accomplished during the regular season. Which explains why they blame themselves before the opponent.
Anyhow, i'm either expecting a tight win again from the jackets or a blowout from the lightning. |

Babcock did the same thing in Detroit. When the Jackets would beat them, it was due to the Wings not playing good . . . 2nd game of a b2b . . . they had hangnails . . .
Nothing about the Jackets played a good game. |

He should but he won't. Star treatment. See Malkin and Ovechkin. |
