On a positive note, the Cincinnati Cyclones, Buffalo's ECHL affiliate, is still going strong in the Kelly Cup playoffs.

Actually, this is somehow more depressing. We're down to "Our ECHL affiliate is pretty good!"

What if, and bear with me here, he is being spoken to so that he can be a mentor of sorts.. an "associate coach" to whomever Botts chooses to be head?

JM's head coaching career needs to continue to be over with. But he can still definitely be a valuable resource. If he's good enough to be on the Pens' bench, he's good enough for ours.

Going to see it tonight at 6. Old time village theatre is showing it $6 a ticket.

There is nothing about hiring him in any capacity that is intriguing to me. I am a very positive person usually, but looking at where we're at, and where we're heading, I don't see any light in this situation. These are dark days.

Botterill needs to get the coach right, and then he needs to pull 2 or 3 rabbits out of his MBA mortarboard in terms of trades and signings

That’s pretty big

I've been enjoying watching the Islanders, the Canes, LV/SJ. Some great hockey, passion, presence, energy. Unlike anything I've watched over many recent years with Sabres. Botteril's job now (coach) and into summer is massive. I hope there is some light at the end of this tunnel.
