Getting your notebook ready so you can write down every ticky tack play by the Bruins (while ignoring the same stuff by the Blues) so you can cry about how it was the refs' fault after the Blues lose tonight?

Preferred outcome:
Blues win the Stanley Cup and Marchand is injured in such a way that he can never play again but doesn't affect his quality of life.

Acceptable outcomes:
Blues win the Stanley Cup, Marchand is unharmed
Bruins win the Stanley Cup, Marchand never plays again

Unacceptable outcome:
Bruins win the Stanley Cup, Marchand is unharmed

Nightmare Fuel scenario:
Bruins win the Stanley Cup, Marchand wins Conn Smythe

Although I do think the Bruins have benefitted from some breaks, I agree. The reason the Bruins won last game was because they were the better team. Both teams have gotten some serious breaks, and both teams have earned every win they've had.

It happens both ways... both teams get away with tons of stuff during a game. Now I'm not petty enough to sit there with a notebook, and mark down every single ticky tack play that the Blues could have gotten a penalty on... but come on... one team has had MULTIPLE SUSPENSIONS this series, and it's not the Bruins. One team got a game winning goal off a terrible non call, and it wasn't the Bruins. For Blues fans to be crying about the officiating is just an attempt at creating a built in excuse in case they happen to lose the Cup.

According to hockey reference, Blues are 10-5-2 at TD Garden according to hockeyreference.com

I'm betting that excludes the 2-1 record this post season but maybe not.

The Blues need to bring the same relentless effort they brought against Dallas in game 7. Put more than 50+ shots on Tuuka with some really high quality while not conceding much. If he plays as well as Bishop did and gets the same result, let him win the Conn Smythe and the Blues the Cup.

Of course the Bruins are not the Stars, no offense to the Stars.

Blues got this. It's going to 5-5 for most of the game and we've had the better chances 5-5. We are 3-1 with our full lineup this series. We're good on the road and after a loss too. 3-1 Blues with an empty netter! Let's Go Blues!

if you think that blog was crying (given the cirticism of the Blues 3rd period, how Rask won the game, calling out Petro, Blais, etc.), the chatter after Game 5 must have seemed like an ocean wave.

If you've been around my stuff for any length of time, you'd know my "win regardless of officiating" mantra. Some nights it hinders you, some nights it helps you, some nights it has little impact. You have to play well enough to limit any possible impact it can have on you. I liken it to not letting a fight get left in the hands of the judges' scorecards.

The Blues couldn't solve Rask even though they had ample chances. Once the second round of bad breaks hit they didn't respond and were done.

The illustrations of the slew foot examples were to illustrate the point that both teams are playing at and over the line. The idea that the over the line play is only the Blues is a tired narrative that if you watch closely isn't true. The Bruins haven't done the hot button head shots and have more experienced guys who are better at getting away with things (Chara as an easy example) but they aren't Lady Byng out there.

The Bruins have been surprisingly terrible at 5v5. If we can stop gooning it up and giving them special teams opportunities, which is the entirety of the talent on that team this series, it will be a great game.

i would agree with this...also continue to take the play to chara...force him to play and defend, he will get worn down and he just is not quick or fast enough to handle it anymore

the team that gets dominated with a goalie who stops at least 3 grade a chances finally makes a play on their first scoring chance and it goes in...
