I agree with other posters here though. We should all pump the brakes on Botterill until he actually assembles a competent roster in Buffalo. This is now his 3rd off-season, and the results haven't been there yet. Obviously we in Buffalo are THIRSTY to finally be competitive. It's also no sure thing that Botterill's puck-moving, fast defense corps can, you know, play defense. But it is refreshing to have a GM with a vision instead of the last guy who traded everything for 3 players while the d corps was an assembly of broken spare parts

Good blogg, name of the game today is puck moving defense that can get that rubber disk up to the forwards efficiently , it took the cbj a few seasons to understand this notion and at times during the Foote/Commodre era , our defense looked like a Chinese fire drill.

Yeah I hear that. He's made some bad moves already and some good moves already. He's already hired his own coach and fired him as well.

Im just tired of hearing how much he was behind all of JR's good and since he left anything bad is because he's not still with the Pens. I do not believe it to be true.

I know they haven't played in the NHL yet, but I'm going to take drafting Addison and trading for Joseph as signs they haven't abandoned puck moving defensemen.

Schultz and Maatta had A LOT of trouble keeping the puck out of their own end for being such good defensemen.

I have caught myself watching Sprong's training videos on Instagram recently, his edgework is insane. I didn't realize he had 14 goals in 47 games after the trade. I thought they had him scratched a bunch. Both teams might actually come out on top with that trade.
