2020-21 = Start in the AHL. Get promoted to NHL after the deadline.

I’d say that you’d need to get him to the NHL to take advantage of the window created by the other blue chip propspect’s ELCs, but what blue chip prospects?

My question is what's left for him to learn at the Junior hockey level ? At the age of 18 he'd definitely be a young AHL player but nothing that hasn't been done before. Tatar started the Griffins when he was 18, so why not this high first round pick. I'd be curious to see how quickly and how well he makes the adjustment.

He needs to get accustomed to North American hockey and the smaller ice surface and I'd say the sooner, the better.

Ah... yes. The German league is where he's been playing. Either way, I think the AHL is his best destination if he can't crack the lineup in Detroit after training camp.

And... I'd get to see him play close up in GR. So there's that.
