Bob Duff: Where Does Hicketts Fit In? Now that D Joe Hicketts has signed a two-year contract, the question is where does he fit into the future plans of the Detroit Red Wings?

I agree, although worth noting that the Red Wings were one of just three teams that actually got negative goals above replacement from their defense overall last year. So even if Hicketts is a replacement level player he'd arguably still be an improvement over at least a couple of the returning regulars ...

Agreed. I would just prefer to give any potential Hicketts ice time to Cholowski or Kaski.
