JW retiring makes me feel old Good god feels like a year ago Coatsey was interviewing him with his remarks about making the team straight from the OHL

He didn't say he was retiring. It would not surprise me in any way to see him in a Canes uni at some point this season.

That'd be up to the Flyers. He has yet to be a starter above Russian minor league level, so I wouldn't anticipate it.

Didn’t realize that as thought it was up to the player for European players

Has it been spoken about the new numbers for certain players so far? Morin finally getting his number 55 back. Myers with 5, because that stud Justin Braun needs to be able to retire that number 61 in San Jose and philly someday. Niskanen I believe cannot wear 2, so he gets 15.

Why is Jay O’Brien not on the roster ?
Maybe his attendance would prohibit him playing in the NCAA a year from now?

I won tickets to the rookie game on the 11th. I am looking forward to seeing Frost, Farabee, Ratcliffe, Sandstrom, Strome play.
I’m not expecting any of these guys to make the flyers. That should leave the phantoms with a pretty good team.

NCAA has a 48-hr rule. Can't remember if O'Brien already used his 48-hrs up or not, but if he has, he'd have to pay his own way for the entire stay, including airfare, lodging, food, medical care, equipment, etc to remain NCAA eligible.

Strome may make it out of the player's tunnel by the start of the 2nd period.

Strome is a wild card I am very interested in following. If that kid can learn to skate even passable at an NHL level he may be a late round gem.

Federer struggled last night. Missing easy winners, shanking balls into the crowd. He was not right.

He has everything but the skating. Some people have said it's overrated, but in my one viewing (the rookie game 2 years ago), he was very noticeable. Even my friend, who is an Oilers' fan, said to me, "Why is that guy so slow?" If he can put in the work and become passable like you said, I agree he could definitely be a steal.

As much as he deserved the booing, that troll job by the Russian player the other day during his post-match interview was pretty wonderfully done.
