What choice does doobie have other than to stick with Hutch? There’s no money. Any backup making the same is equally whoreawful. - Byfuglien Ate Me

The choice is to move out a forward. I would think Johnsson would be the first choice. Depending on the quality of the backup, Johnsson for a 2nd and a goalie say Ryan Miller would be ok. Then there is at least a tiny amount of cap space. There are at least 3 players on the Marlies that are capable of replacing Johnsson. Unless Dubas wants to start considering free pizza giveaways for "Guaranteed Loss Night" when Hutch starts, a move is required even if painful.

I see what you’re saying, but giving up AJ for a decrepit and stale Miller lite may backfire badly. What aboout parting with Freddie Float? |

Could the Leafs not have put Marner on LTIR and save the cap space? Isn't the rule more than 30 days? Wait until Saturday and get the cap space back, if so. |

LTIR space doesn't accrue. |

It's going to be an unpopular opinion, but it kinda makes me wish Sparks was still an option. As poopty as he was, he managed to win a few games. |

There are options.
They just will have to pay a premium because at least in the east, no teams are going to help the Leafs.
Pittsburgh is the obvious option but they are seriously helping the Leafs if they trade them a goalie. |

It's pretty slim pickins as far as goalies available in the NHL. Maybe Dubas and Shanny can do a road trip to Europe and find the best goalie not in the NHL at the moment. Hutch has to go

Yet another former respected player bashing Babcock

Yeah just finished reading the article on The Score app.
Babs seems like a huge female genitalia. So happy the Leafs got rid of him.
I know they aren't there to be "your friend" so to speak. But if you aren't making it enjoyable to wake up and go to the rink everyday that's a huge problem.
Good luck getting another job. Luckily for him, he's set for life financially.

We won despite Sparks and don't think this team improved enough to just keep doing it. Sparks was just as bad if not worse.
At this point this team needs to go and have a few tweaks made to get them going. I don't mind getting Miller. I think though if we are going to do so try and get a dman as well to upgrade, maybe work Ceci in going back as a contract coming off. Think though might be Kap over Johnsson to get it done there. |

Yeah I’ve brought it up to some people and they’ve laughed at me...but seriously I don’t know if another team will hire him. His attitude doesn’t work in today’s NHL.
Maybe Seattle takes a shot at him....but that’s it. I think we see more rookie coaches next year instead of guys like Babs. |

Miller likely isn’t getting traded until a week before the deadline.
He has a 6 team trade list and good luck getting him and his California super model wife to come to Canada in December |

Might consider it for the year because he can go right back out there and he would have a decent chance at playoffs and a cup but who knows... hard to really say there. |

Franzen's comments about how Babs would go off on anyone including arena staff is pretty bad. Or the stuff around Chelios in the outdoor game is (frank)ed. |
