Why is Hagg in ahead of Myers? - jmatchett383
Because there are two of them?

Stewart is going to be a thing for the foreseeable future. He will prob play 40+ games. Which is a disgrace. |

The fact that waiving Stewart is not an option is troubling.
They may not be needle movers, but I'd much rather have a guy like Pominville or even Vanek. Hell, I'd rather have Jamie McGinn. Those guys are at least competent NHL players. |

Sorry, just saw him listed as healthy scratch. |

agree...that suspension was harsh. I didn't think he would get a game as this is his first time. |

I think it's harsh, but if he didn't want to get suspended, he shouldn't have made such a stupid move. I know it wasn't pre-meditated and he didn't have time to sit there and think it through, but he was seeing red, hit an unsuspecting player, and he therefore gave the DoPS something to consider. If he had controlled himself better (easier said than done), then they wouldn't have anything worth considering. |

He's already played 12 games to many. It's amazing he wasn't in the NHL last year, but improved enough at 32 to get a job this year.
Is the 7 D tonight because they don't have enough cap space to call up someone?
Just knew November was too good to be true. Sure I thought there would be some normal regression but for the wheels to fall completely off with this injury bullpoop is par for the course. |

What’s a disgrace is that second line. |

Well yeah, but they don't have anyone else. Giroux, Couturier, Voracek, JVR, and Hayes have to carry the team. Time to strap them up and get to work, or the season is going to go down the poopter in a hurry.
And my problem isn't with Stewart, I'm sure he's a fine guy and a good veteran to have in the locker room, but he's not an NHL level player now. My issue is with Fletcher having him on the roster.
With all the dead wood they are putting on the ice he doesn't help. |

its not that i don't think it was a dumb move....i guess its what i view as inconsistencies in these suspensions. reading the player safety reason they point out that it was interference and the hit was a second late. It seems that coupled with the fact he was injured is deserving of three games. It's not that hit or the play, but that other players have done far worse and don't even get a minor penalty. Just baffles my mind i guess. |

My bad on that one. He was a healthy scratch on Sunday. I put him back in projected lineup for tonight but forgot to remove him from the projected scratch list. The Flyers have no healthy scratches as of now -- will have to go 11F/7D. |
