Nice game by the Jets. Helly played another great game and the defense looked solid. When Lowry comes back the Jets could have two solid 3/4 lines playing him with Perreault and Copp and reuniting the 2015 line. Hopefully Eakins can be the Jets missing #2 center and develop some chemistry playing with Laine and Ehlers. Now let's hope the Jets can finally shake the injury bug that's been hitting them all season. |

I haven't posted much lately. I'm happy the Jets are finally healthy and playing better. That being said , I hate to be a Debbie-downer but I still fully expect the rest of the NHL season will be cancelled. Its reality.
I've heard to the possibility of playing in arenas with no fans and just broadcasting it on TV but I think the realization is that if just one player gets Covid-19 coronavirus then the whole team will get infected which affects the rest of the NHL. Its therefore possible that the President's trophy winner could also be the Stanley Cup champion, as strange as that sounds. The other possibility is that next season is shortened and we have a delayed playoff starting in July or August (or something like) that and then the regular season and subsequent playoffs again.
This is certainly a more interesting topic for discussion right now that who might be better on what line. Comments ?

Eakin isn’t a 4C in the NHL. He’s about to turn 29, and has been above replacement level once in the last 5 years. The year he shot double his normal percentage, that is. |

I agree that Eakins is not the ideal #2 center but unless Roslovic is put on the second line he is the best option the Jets have without disturbing the other lines. Copp and Lowry play a dump and chase game which doesn't fit with the style of game that Laine and Ehlers play. |

Literally Copp is a 2C. He’s easily the best non-Scheifele center on the team, and it’s not close. I don’t care what style people think he plays. He’s effective, and he was productive in the role |

Rex, I actually agree with you........Wow. I still think Ras and Ehlers deserve a shot, but Little and Lowry were both terrible centres, so lack of options did aid Copp in this debate. |

Ehlers is the best option, I will die on this hill |

For a guy that has taken 17 career NHL face-offs and predominantly plays a perimeter game, I think the transition to center will be quite easy! |

I would die on the hill that Roslovic is the best #2 centre! Problem is I think I might die!
Maybe next year?
See Harkins out, Lowry in. Rather would have taken Shore out, but don't make the calls, as of yet! |

Covid19 is significant but Dr. Hatchet is waaaay over the top with his reaction. Its a flu virus, it will make its rounds and touch many of us, however, with death rate of about 1% it is a bad flu virus but not the plague or ebola.
The middle ground response to Covid19 is the correct one. Ask fans who are feeling sick to stay home and offer them a refund. Scan for fevers. Restrict player access to fans. Don't share water bottles. No white-out street party if there are cases of unknown origin in Manitoba. Make lots of hand wash stations available in the arena.
The public health danger in all this is the public forum to share and spread the virus. Teams will fear the flu going through their teams at a critical time more than the mortality risk. |

Correct. The mortality rate under 50 is 2/10ths of 1% and only 1.3 % under 60. Its 13.9 % over 80 . It won't kill players or hardly affect them. That being said look at what is happening to sporting events around the world.

Even those rates are likely high as we only guess how many actual infections there have been. It all depends on what percentage of people feeling ill actually went to the hospital and of those how many doctors ordered testing for Covid19. The percentage could be anywhere from .1% to as high as you are suggesting. |

If Maurice is one thing it's predictable. How many penalty killers does one team need, considering they are 29th in minor penalties taken?
I see Letestu is healthy, I wonder how long it takes him to get in game shape so they can take out Appleton. |

Jets C depth is now
Scheifele 71 pts
Eakin 12 pts
Lowry 10 pts
Shore 6 pts
Outside of Detroit that has got to be the worst point producing 2 to 4 C in the NHL |

that's on the coach,
Shiefele
Wheeler or my choice Ehlers
Roslovic / Copp
Copp /Lowry
looks a lot different

Jets are still 20th in the NHL in 5v5 scoring no matter who you move around. |

Sending Harkins to the press box to keep Eakin in (even though Harkins has worked hard and shown a lot of promise, and Eakin has been an AHL player for 4 of the last 5 seasons) is peak Paul Maurice.
Hell, I’d scratch Shore before Harkins, and I like Shore a lot more than the rest of the waiver wire crew (20, 57, 38) |

Nice to have Lowry back !
Way to go, Cody Eakin ! |

Thinking that Little would have had a lot more than 25 points had he been healthy. |
