When the NHL suspends the season in the next 24-48 hours let me say,
Jetsnation, you were right.

I honestly didn't want to be correct on this but in my eyes, it was absolutely inevitable. and now NBA season also now on hiatus. The thing here is that these guys are young and are athletes. Their chance of dying from Covid-19 is pretty much zero. For them, it would likely be a light cold. It's an over-reaction as they could play in empty buildings but at the end of the day, what's the point of that. Just delay it for a few months and shorten the next season to 60 games.

It's a new world. I hope you are all prepared.

Another excellent effort from the Jets . A very important win under the situation where this season gets delayed. I haven't done the win percentage calculations but my guess is that this win might make the difference . In a suddenly shortened season you might just see one game head to head matchups in our conference for the wild card playoff position.

Not a good situation at all! Hope they make their decision today, got tickets for the game on Tuesday vs the Panthers, need to find out if there's a game. Actually might be better to cancel.

The good thing about the Jets current standing - if they cancel today we are currently in a playoff position. Be hard not to include us in any version of the 2020 playoffs.

Before most of us die, I accept your apology Ross. Everyone needs to stock up on food and arm yourselves to protect your families. Prepare for martial law and a grid down situation. Godspeed.

if they go by winning %, we are OUT. Calgary get in by .001 higher than us.

that would be a tough pill to swallow, and for a few other teams on the edge also. On the bright side we would be participating in the draft lottery.

Hockey doesn't have the same level of interaction as basketball does. Players wear equipment making less skin to skin contact (except Brad Marchand). The risk would seem to be a little lower.

The issue is still the risk (highly likely) of fans sharing the virus with each other. To me it makes sense to finish the season in empty arenas, take the TV revenue, have a playoff.

Risk to the athletes is low even if they contract it (and they will be monitored more closely than anyone else on the planet). Contingency needed if a team gets more than a few infected players - likely cancel the season and the playoffs at that point.

Hearing that on ice officials are being sent home, pretty sure the season will be suspended, for how long who knows.

Also saying that Dennis Beyak and the broadcast team have been told to make plans to return home. Not good!

Jets point percentage is .563 just behind Calgary at .564. That head to head matchup might have changed that. I certainly hope they don't just go straight to the playoffs without either a few more games to even out the games played or some head to head matchups for teams that are this close. Too bad because a healthy Jets team was playing very well and with lots of rest while other teams in our conference had compressed schedules and some major injuries.
