Thanks Carol. We covered it in the last thread. If everything is cancelled then its as if the year or season didn't take place. Then like the last time there was a cancelled season everyone would just be drawn for draft placement with no weighted odds.
So logically, since there is no season to trigger the condition, for giving up the pick or not, it all gets bumped up one more year to 2021/2022. |

some holes in your logic..
1) there was a season even if it was shortened it still existed (and played more games than the half lockout year).
2) there is still going to be a 2020 draft so something needs to happen to the picks traded
if no more games are played then i bet points percentage creates the draft order |

dont worry the season didnt exist so everything that happened didnt happen. contract negotiations are going to be so easy because nothing happened this year |

If its ALL cancelled then those games don't count doesn't matter how many they played. Giving points percentage would make sense for playoff determination. But why penalize teams for draft position when they received no benefit for winning more games as they get no reward of playoffs or SC.
As for traded picks they probably stay as is its only the conditions set per season ranking that would get bumped up.
So Canucks won't have a second and it goes by the drawn ranking. But they get their first and next season the condition on keeping or not is triggered as year 1 in the clause. |

Thanks for your hard work Carol! Have only had to go to the studio and home over the weekend and today, though have to go to work tomorrow – will be interesting to see how empty the subways are.

all trades carry risk. making the playoffs (whether or not you actually get to play the playoff game or not) has the benefits of a good exciting and competitive team that better fills the building for aquaman than an empty one. if no more games are played there will still be a presidents trophy winner plus all the usual individual awards |

Yes they probably can vote on individual awards based on games played so the players get the benefit on their contracts. However its not the same for team trophies if the season and playoffs were cancelled. |
