Jeremy Laura: Veleno and Seider garner praise for AHL performances

While Veleno’s stock is raising let’s trade him for Tristan Jarry, let’s start at the back end. Seider looks very promising again goaltending and D men needed.

Gagner can't skate and is pretty weak defensively. If he does make the roster you probably don't want him at center with two youngsters on the wing. They'd likely get caved in. Instead I'd want to shelter Gagner on the wing with a very responsible center. Something like Gagner-Nielsen-Zadina might work. Nielsen is pretty responsible. Gives Zadina a couple of skilled guys to play with.

I am really pleased with his progress. I really think Stevie will try to sign an FA D-man such as Vatenen or go cheaper and get Scandella. He will need another vet back there with all our youngsters. And then the pressure will be off Mo to be a top 4 talent and let him develop. And if he surpasses expectations I am sure Stevie will find a trade partner for any extra assets and fill needs in other positions.
I am also curious to see how Stevie goes after another goalie. Does he sign a stop gap back-up or does he go after a gold standard goalie? I am thinking the former. I would hope for Lehner, but he may prove too expensive and wish to sign w/ a contender.

Gagner is an interesting problem. And you have an interesting solution that warrents a look at! But I hate to see Zadina on a 3rd line, which is were Franz should be or even the 4th. I doubt that Veleno will be up right away. I think Glenny will be elevated to 2nd line unless Stevie brings in someone else......Maybe the new coach, Gerald Gallant will have a novel solution!

They should go after Alexandar Georgiev. Not sure what rangers would want for him.

There is no need to elevate Zadina into a top 6 role. Slow down. Play him on a 3rd line in some sheltered situations. Give him a little PP time.

The rags should keep Georgiev. King Henrik is gone. Georgiev and Shesterkin are a great combo and will serve them well into the future.

If need be he will be bought out.....NYR needs cap space more than the King. If he wants to compete for a cup maybe they can make a deal with the Avs or Canes.
