Carol Schram: Canucks' relationship with Judd Brackett headlines NHL Draft timing issues
Still no word on when the NHL Draft will be held — it sounds like NHL GMs aren't happy with the idea of doing it in June. If it does get bumped back, it adds another wrinkle to the already complicated relationship between the Vancouver Canucks and their director of amateur scouting, Judd Brackett.
Only in Vancouver would you read weeks of whining about a hockey scout. The media in this town is a joke (not you) . He is a goddamn scout. You would think someone shot the Queen of England.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the Canucks pick if the year is canceled before the draft.
Jersey’s argument: the Canucks were in a playoff spot at the time of stoppage therefore they get the pick
Canucks argument: the playoffs never happened therefore the condition was never met therefore the pick should be pushed to next year
Will be interesting no matter the outcome, personally if I’m a team involved in a trade like this I would push to ensure that I get the pick this year. The next draft will likely be filled with busts due to the lack of scouting information if all levels of hockey have a shortened season next year.
TBH I don’t even know who he is or how he contributed. To me, he’s just another minion under the GM. These days, management groups seem to have a cast of thousands who’s roles are loosely defined. Buddies, ex team mates, alumni, corporate schmucks, etc.

Canucks drafting has upgraded for sure but it is crazy to think it is all because of one person.
I seen an article on Twitter that said Pittsburgh has the best hockey fans in the world, and then Cam Robinson tweeted "I bet they can't tell you the name of their head scout"

Pittsburgh? Why? What were the metrics to determine they were the best?

That’s funny you said that. Elton John has basically said the same thing.
He absolutely refuses to play that song even though he’s asked consistently to play it.
I think when someone like myself doesn’t follow Twitter these details fly right over my head. I always have to pause for a second when Vantel says ‘people are freaking...’ he’s mostly talking about Twitter.

Vantel and VHG are basically my Twitter proxy’s. - bloatedmosquito
I get a kick out of Vantel when he tries to be the big bad boss in here, if you post something from some other site, then he goes and posts crap from Twitter.
