He got better as the season went on in Charlotte. From what I understand he may have been pouting a bit when not winning the backup role at the beginning of the season which started poorly for him. I believe the Calder Cup winning season may have had him feeling a little entitled. Either give him a chance to backup this season or move on from him otherwise he could become a problem in the locker room. |

Didn't see many games last year (thanks to Fox Sports and DISH NETWORK fighting over $$), and couldn't afford season tickets NOW! ...anyway, based mostly on stats, I felt Ned and Mrazek were disappointing, and Reimer was, by default, the best goalie! All that said, I hope that Waddell and crew look for a very good backup, at worst, and preferably a decent starting GK!
This is how bad my jones for hockey has made me think that THIS SEASON IS OVER! Already talking like it was last season...! Sheesh!
Oh well, it kinda feels like make-believe...will we see hockey again this year? |

I don't think he'll necessarily become a problem in the locker room and in my opinion, it wouldn't make sense to reward anyone just because there's the fear they could become a problem. |

I don't necessarily think they need a backup, as Reimer fit that role quite well. But yeah, I certainly do think they need a starter.
And in all fairness, it certainly does at least feel like the season is over at this point, even if that's not the plan.

You are probably right, Ben! By the way, I want to thank you for providing this forum, and input!
IT'S great to have a place to go to talk about hockey (especially CANES HOCKEY)! Your work is appreciated, and is what I wish I could do, but I know my "LIMITATIONS"...gotta love Clint Eastwood!
I'm a retired IBM'R who was an original STH for the Canes when they played (two years) in G'BORO before the ESA was built in Raleigh, and several years after that! I miss all the games, but the tailgating was over-the-top AMAZING! We had as many as 70 people to our t-gate during the playoffs, and each year we would have at least one Pig-picking, and one year we had lobster and the "boil" 1 1/2 lb lobsters...IT WAS SO GOOD, THAT...two weeks later, WE DID IT AGAIN! ...tables and chairs, and table-cloths!
Some great people, and awesome hockey! Sometimes the tailgating would start at 4-5 ,for a 7'o'clock game, and we might not get into the arena until the 2nd period!
Thanks again for your time! |
