Carol Schram: How the Canucks' re-start roster might look as the NHL moves toward a plan
As live sports are starting to pop up on our TVs, the NHL and its players are reportedly moving closer to nailing down a plan on how to finish out the 2019-20 season, with news potentially expected to drop next week. If a 30-player roster limit is set, as has been suggested, there won't be many spots open for minor-leaguers if all the Canucks come in healthy. |

Thanks Carol,
Would like to see Rafferty and Joe levi get the call up considering we always lose defense and it would be good to see if they can potentially fill a spot next year.
Baertschi, Bailey and Groavac make sense to me as well.
I just read the he NBA is floating the idea of a 25-30M cap reduction, which is about 30%. Different cap structures but I can't imagine a 20% drop would work in the NHL. |

In normal times you couldn't pay me enough to watch Euro Soccer but with no sports for two months I enjoyed the game |

Just say no to Drugs and Baertschi - VANTEL
I would rather have Baertschi as a 19/20 forward than Lind. In the off chance he plays and shows he belongs, the trade possibility increases.

Can you imagine what a Stanley Cup winning Baertschi would bring back in a trade? - NewYorkNuck
Benning does cherish those 7 th rounders. |

I'm more positive about their chances now than I was back in February and I had then winning a round then. Obviously every team will be healthier but I doubt many teams are getting a Markstrom, Tanev, Boeser back. Throw in Ferland and Leivo and this roster is much improved. |

@vantel, a 7th rounder to get rid of the final year of š» š§ contract would be a huge win! |

Afternoon Carol, good job on the blog.
I am pleased that you have possibly found an entry into soccer, soccer is very near and dear to my life. Both my children played provincial and my wife played competitive (Div 1) until 45. As far as following any particular league I think it would be best to start with the EPL, and please donāt side with Man U, that would be like siding with the Patriots of the NFL...
I am a supporter of Newcastle because we have family from there, so from early adolescence Iāve been a Geordie.
And I just following other leagues once the race for league champion is in the final stages |

Where'd you play Div 1?
EPL is by far the best league, both in terms of overall team play and skill + toughness. I grew up watching Thierry Henry, so Arsenal supporter here |

Fair enough, I still like the roster, if anything there is more room for Baertschi. |

I have a hunch Benning and Baertschi don't get along. I remember him calling him soft. He also openly admitted he has been trying to move him but no one wanted him. |

It's a shame he didn't dislike him before he signed him to a 3yr 10+ mil contract. |

Or like saying he is trying to improve his team by signing promising young talent, concussions and hindsight aside.
Or with syphilis, never drink, smoke, or ever put yourself into situations where you think with your little head.
Be pure guys and one day you can also be judgmental and support the Alberta CRAP party |

Thanks Carol.
Michaelis, Lockwood and Hoglander are ineligible, as their contracts start next season.
I would think they would add Brisebous, Rafferty, Juolevi, Bailey and Lind.
I hope they wouldn't bother with supersoft Baertschi. |
