Eichel for Alex Semin 1-1. Botteril probably doesn’t know he’s in the KHL. I’ll also through in a piece of rubble from the Tim Horton’s ROR drove his truck into. Final offer. |

And i know this may be an unpopular opinion on here...but i really think Jake Allen is the Bills' Achilles heel.
That being said. Jets and Bills are both young, hungry teams full of talent. Should be a refreshing year in the AFC East. |

I thought he was still with the Blues, when did he make the switch to the NFL?
Edit: I don't know if I'd say he's the Achilles heel, but he's definitely the key to the season. |

Few things:
First off, I pretty much see God when I look at Michael Jordan. There are countless reasons I call him the greatest athlete of all-time, and it's really not even close. He "transcended the game" - IMO, the only other athlete I have seen dominate and put on a spectacle like he did was Dominic Hasek, I'm not even being a homer. Yes, Gretzky was great, despite how I play him down as much as possible, but that Oilers team was absolutely bonkers across the roster and they put on a spectacle together.
But watching Jordan was what we all did, even his own team. It was him and a supporting cast; Hasek was basically a Ninja leading a group of Samurai into a battle against the first Gunpowder army and absolutely decimating them on the battle-field, despite their opponents' superior technology. Jordan was Jesus Christ incarnate and his teammates were his Apostles and they are lucky they got to be around him.
Not that I'm comparing the two. But we were lucky to have had Hasek. And regardless of all the mistakes Darcy made with the excuse of "no money", the real butt-hurt during his entire tenure was how he handled Hasek and what he got in return for him.
You would think that after 70 years of his hand-sitting approach (and thumb-grinding no doubt), we would be less critical of our current run of GM's but honest to god it's as if they were hired to intentionally hurt the organization in every conceivable way, at this point we can't even discern who is worse between GMTM and Botts.
I'm happy to have Jack Eichel. But we aren't lucky to have him. He will go down as one of the greatest Sabres players, a top-10 and possibly top-5 player for us. If he plays out his contract. If he doesn't ask for a trade. If he considers re-signing with us - and at this point, you can kiss him goodbye, we won't see him in a Buffalo uniform past the age of 28. And 28-32 will probably be his peak, where he plays both at a consistent production rate and at a physically dominant level.
Make no mistake, he was the MVP this season, regardless of the early end to the year. He isn't wimpy like Patrick Kane yet he isn't a physical specimen like Ovechkin, but if you were to get someone in the middle, it would be Jack Eichel. He has a great build and he is very skilled but he really needs to become a lot stronger mentally in order to put it all together.
He has a bad attitude. He matured a little this past season but he still carries a rain cloud above him both on and off the ice. You can tell he has a very conflicted ego and he's incredibly tense altogether as a person.
We have watched him grow a lot. He needs to actually turn the corner next year himself, and shut the hell up and start leading the team to the playoffs. It's what he was drafted to do, it's what he is paid to do, and it's his responsibility because he has an extra letter on the front of his uniform and because it's "his f*cking team, deal with it".
Show me.

Eichel and Co. are sounding a lot like I remember Hall and Co. sounding. I hope for both your and their sake that they see some glimpse of the playoffs by next year and hopefully getting there doesn't include a misguided Hall for Larsson-type trade. |

For me with JOSH Allen,
It’s a matter of how he can develop mentally
His talent certainly shines though,
but he’s still got a lot of work to do to become a true “franchise QB”
And F the Pats!
I know we can all agree on that |

Just checked some numbers, MAN you guys need to be rid of Miller.
Also, why did your GM trade Scandella? |

Because Scandella had a miraculous turnaround this year compared to a multi seasons long downward trend.
Chances Scandella repeats the miracle next year? Slim.
I wouldn't sign him this offseason. No way. |

I do think that’s a great 1-2-3 core
And if we sign Dahlin long term after next season,
idk that he’s costing $10mil
He’d have to take quite a leap forward to get into that territory - jdfitz77
The only way I see Dahlin, and Dahlin's agent, being ok signing any kind of long term deal is if it's a massive deal.
Otherwise, it'll be a strong raise and shorter term, IMO. |

When you have a chance to get a soon-to-be-UFA of Frolik's caliber, you don't say no |

I completely agree. You definitely wouldn't have been wise to sign him like St Louis just did. What I meant was why did he trade him when he's having such a year and your franchise is DESPERATELY in need of a successful year? I think the difference between 13th and 10th (or maybe higher) likely could've been made up by having Scandella in the lineup over Miller.
Also, why did Colin Miller keep getting ice time? |

Because he's good? You're assessment of Miller lacks context. Early in the season he got usage that he wasn't used to and by extension couldn't handle. Neither could his 19 year old defensive partner.
They carried one too many righties so someone was always going to be forced into the wrong spot.
They eventually got Miller into a role that was good for him, but that came at the expense of Jokiharju seeing a more expanded role (which he deserved) and Montour at times playing on the wrong side.
It's not a coincidence that since the new year Miller leads all Sabres D in XG% |

When Scandella was on the team, Miller was in the press box, and often.
You're new here though. The real question is why Bogosian got any ice time, or why Ristolainen and Montour were a pair so often down the stretch when they were awful on the ice together.
Did I mention the games when they had Montour playing forward? (I'm serious) |
