Oh, for sure New York has the edge here. They very well might have the top 3 netminders in this series at the moment. Lundqvist is old, but is bound for the Hall and can steal a series. But he doesn’t even matter as much, because Shesty is going to give our division nightmares for years to come. It’s early yet, but her sure looks like the real deal. Shesty, Sorokin, Hart, Samsonov, Jarry. Maybe even Blackwood and Elvis. Said it before, and I’ll say it again. This division has crazy potential talent in net, and if you don’t have someone who can hang with those guys, you’re in for an uphill battle.
That being said, I’m still giving the series edge to Carolina. Although the Rangers have some top end talent, I like the Canes forwards as a group more, and their defense is beyond formidable. Toss in Shesty’s inexperience and Henrik’s age, I believe the Canes can overcome their issues with the NYR...this year. |
