stop skating, please just cancel the season, start fresh in october and get back to the new normal of a regular hockey season.
stupid to end the season in October, start next season in January...unless the new schedule will be January through September to avoid the NFL |

Bill,
If Zamula won't be a potential Black Ace, why would he attend the mini camp in July? If one of the goals is to limit the number of interactions, why would players who will not play in Phase 4 be invited? |

Say what you want about hexy but two of our potential top 4 dmen were ATO.
Getting zamula and myers almost makes losing NoPa and OL hurt a little less....almost

Same reason Sam Morin is there: rehabbing a serious surgery to stay on course for next season. |

And if there's a major Covid-19 uptick and next season can't start on time (at least with fans in the stands) after you've already not finished this season? |

Too much money at stake and the league has come too far to turn back now. An attempt to play hockey will be made.
Off topic but its amazing to see the Eagles still on the injury train. Brandon Brooks torn achilles. |

Stinks no doubt, but at least it happens in June and not August or September. It sounds like there are still some capable FA guards out on the market.

Yeah, hopefully enough time to recover for 2021 and can have a full camp. Agreed plenty of time for Howie to maneuver. Jason Peters returning? |

It sounded like the chances were strong he was coming back anyhow..now it feels like a certainty. Perhaps they can try to train Dillard at Brook's spot |

Good stuff on Umberger. I liked him as a player in his first stint, but always felt like he never really reached his full potential in the NHL. I think it was just a matter of inconsistency that left me wanting more. He was great in the series against Buffalo. That series, and the time he got absolutely dummied (forget the game now) at the blue line and looked like he had no clue where he was, are the two things I remember most about him. |

If I remember correctly, Bill had mentioned a week or so ago that the rehabbers were the only ones allowed to skate during the shutdown. |

If he's there skating as part of the 6-man rotation, that makes sense. Taking part in the 30-man restarted training camp in early July doesn't make as much sense, from a quarantine perspective. |

Jesus, this rule of six players on the ice and dressing room. How can they even prepare? - SuperSchennBros
This is just to get back to skating form. They'll have a 3-week training camp starting July 10th that will be full attendance. |

To me it makes sense to include any rehabbing players in the team quarantine and testing since they are part of the group trainers have to come in contact with. And once the team starts playing again, trainers will be in contact with all team players including keeping up with rehabbing guys. They are all in the “family.”
I don’t know if they count on the expanded roster or not. I would think not.

Since the team is heading out West for (hopefully) 2 months, I'd assume there are separate trainers not travelling with the team who will be working with them throughout the next few months.
The Flyers will be off of Skate Zone ice from late July until next season starts. Training camp in Philly will be a full 2 weeks before they're off to AZ, and then it will be open for 3+ months where they can skate all day. Are 2 weeks really going to derail their rehab?
If the goal is to limit the amount of people that teams come into contact with, I'd think that injured players would be kept away until the team departs. |

Thankfully the Flyers don’t have many rehabbing players so personally I’d include them in the group quarantine and regular testing. Maybe they will be separated but as of now they are in groups with active roster players. Just my opinion, but it’s not a significant difference in risk considering all the precautions.

So if we win you can stand off to the side with your little asterisk sign and have your minimal asterisk celebration. |

I dont necessarily disagree with him. Its will be 4.5-5 months since teams last played. I know that every team is dealing with the same circumstances but team play is exponentially different in Sept-Nov than April-June.
Ill be happy its back but i definitely feel weird about it |

I think Philly's defensive style will be easier to start up on short notice. It will give them an early advantage in the first round I predict. |
