Does he have a NTC? I doubt a 33 year old tender who has no cup yet would jump to an expansion team. Not every expansion team is going to hit lightning in a bottle like Vegas.

Expansion draft years must be terrible for backup goalie candidates.

Who will trade/give a new contract for an experienced goalie for a # 2 spot knowing he might get poached right after the season? Holtby is a UFA this year. Say he returns to Caps and Samsonov starts becoming the #1, as expected. Then they could lose Holtby.

Vegas went to the goalie well in Pitt, why shouldn’t Seattle?
