Thanks to some quality fishing talk, for sure!!
It'll sure be nice to have real game stuff to talk about soon. Oh, how I hope they manage to pull this off safely! |

Thanks for the clarification Carol.
With Toronto FC having to postpone their match today I wonder if this is what we have to look forward to in the coming months. |

The NHL has a much more coherent, concrete plan and quarantine in place than the MLS does. Plus, Toronto + Edmonton >>>> Florida in terms of the virus |

Yeah I get it and agree. However, if somehow it gets within the bubble then all bets are off. |

The NHL was really smart to delay that Hub City decision for as long as they could.
I think coming to Canada may also help them in terms of opt-outs. Laugh all you want about the idea of spending your summer in Edmonton; it takes on a bit of a different hue if it looks safer than where you'd be otherwise.
I'm also reading about testing concerns, that MLS & NBA players are taking resources away from regular citizens who need them and jumping the queue to get quicker turnaround than everybody else on their results. Not an issue in Canada, where we have lots of tests available — for the moment, anyway.

Was thinking the same. Bonnie Henry wouldn't sign off on their plan. I think it had something to to with that if there was a positive case the tournament would stop, the NHL didn't like that.

One more thing — a new Kaprizov update from Mike Russo:
"#mnwild GM Bill Guerin says the NHL has ruled that Kirill Kaprizov, if signed for 2019-20, can come for Phase 3 and 4 and can skate in Phase 3 and 4 practices. He would go with the team to Edmonton and be part of the 31 players"
I think this means it'll be easier for the Wild to sign Kaprizov in the next 3 days, but he still wouldn't be able to play in the tournament. Stay tuned. |

I didn't think any players could sign now and join...? Does that mean that Tyramkin or Rathbone could sign and play? |

In terms of the pandemic, a safe summer is much better than a beach summer. With the players not able to go out on their own, doesn't really matter if they're in a "fun" city – they aren't going anywhere.
With Florida's 15k positive tests yesterdays, I've read of backlogs across the country for testing/results – some places are running out of equipment, again. This is a sad part of America in that this pandemic really amplifies the discrepancies of wealth. I fear that it's going to really come to a head when a vaccine is made available. |

My daughter had to get tested, negative. However, now two other household members are showing symptoms and we have to wait for public health to contact us. There's a 99.9% chance we're covid free but with the way it spreads we'll likely get tested as well as we have had different contacts.
It's a pain in the ass, but it's better than the alternative of spreading it everywhere. Especially once you consider the Atlantic bubble and that things are wide open here. |

That sucks, but better play it safe. The Okanagan has opened up and is a sh1t show. People from all over wanting a holiday. |

Mark Spector has some more detail on that in his column today. Basically confirms that the issue was about what would happen to players if a teammate tested positive.
AB signed off on a protocol that's similar to what's being used for medical professionals, who basically can't help but be exposed but who can continue to come to work as long as they're tested rigorously and continue to come up negative.
