Don’t think anyone was worried if Provy would come back in shape. What a horrible captain !! Lead by example. |

Jake is deadly when on his game. Hopefully the extra skating will get him going early for us. |

Well said by Brian Elliott. One of the toughest jobs in the world is raising kids by yourself at home. I know I couldn't do it. |

Yeah - agreed to leave his infant child at home for 2 months. Worked out at home doing pushups and sprints, used kid stroller time for exercise by rollerblading. Worked out hard with a Penn State linebacker twice his size. Wrote inspirational letter in support of protestors. Uncomplainingly led a weak team for almost a decade while showing up every game in effort and results.
Got knocked to the ice by our #1 D in a scrimmage.

and after today we’ve got 28 more days to make those decisions before that first game on August 11.
The Flyers' first round-robin game in scheduled for August 2nd, and yet this is not the first recent AV quote I've read that focuses specifically on the start of the actual playoffs, while nothing about the three games before. Very interesting. |

I have noticed that as well. I suspect most of the round-robin teams will treat those games as something like teams already in playoffs treat remaining regular season games.
I will be frank, I don't like it for us. There are two big reasons for that. One is that this core has had historical difficulty in turning on the switch psychologically, with weak first periods often becoming fatal. The second, bigger reason is that unless we improve our seeding, it is likely we play Pittsburgh in the first round.
Pittsburgh will come in fully healthy, and I suspect they will demolish Habs. I really don't want to face a confident, healthy, physically and psychologically attuned Pens team in the first round. |

This team is totally different that teams of the past, not worried about any of that at all. Literally every team is coming off a 3 + month layoff, it’s going to be hard for everyone. Playing Pitt was never going to be a walk in the park. |

Perhaps this was posted in a previous Blog but are the Flyers games going to be carried on Comcast Sports Net? |

Some of the line combos are interesting. Laughton back at center. Not terrible I just think he did great on Hayes lw. But if Thompson is the 4 th line center I guess that’s still possible.
I know he did at some point but tk with Hayes and farabee is also interesting. |

I like two guys that can muck it up with JVR, Laughton and NAK have no problem carrying the puck through the neutral zone. Jvr just go to the net and cycle the puck. |

I do. Bring on the Pens! If the Flyers play the way they're capable of, they can beat them. If they can't beat the Pens, then they don't deserve to move on. That simple.

I would not put anything to that right now. When they move deeper into camp, we'll have a better idea of what they're thinking.

Exactly. You have to beat good teams to win. We've actually done well against them the past few years. Really, only TB has had our number recently, but if we go up against them, then so be it. |

Flyers look like a solid group under AV. But flyers competitors has more swag and superstars. Hart has to live up to his billing. And streaky guys like JVR has to get on board. |
