Palmieri’s work ethic should land him the “C”

Thoughts on Nolan as AC ?
Also, I miss Drury, totally forgot about him. |

I'd prefer to go Captain-less for the season and select a Captain the following year. There's no need to appoint one now, and although I agree Nico would be a good choice, I just think it will put too much pressure on him for his age. Wait 1 more year, let him grow and see how things play out |

Build the identity now. Have Nico or Palms wear the “C”. I am tired of the Devils floating. Nico is a big boy. He can handle it. |

Never a better time to name Rod Pelley as captain. |

Nico should get the C, his quiet yet Leadership demeanor reminds me of Stevens.
Nolan as a AC is pretty intriguing. I say keep Nas to run the D, he made me totally turn around my feelings about his ability to coach when he took over after Hynes.
He learned more in a few weeks on game adjustments then he did all of his previous years as an assistant. He has a much better grip on things it seems.
After reading in the news that Ruff may only be a placeholder coach I found totally unbelievable, with the undertones that they want Grier to mature as a coach. Why would they do that when Nas could have done the same thing if they just hired him as HC. They had nothing to lose making Nas HC, considering he was in the running. |

I agree Nas did a surprising good job. I did not like him and he earned our respect. BUT the defense stunk and generally has stunk every year he's been here.
It's a hard call to keep on D because if he is responsible for the penalty kill, he seems to have done a great job. But overall I'm not sure. Really the team needs a new direction and they need an experienced head coach. Lindy Ruff might not have been my pick to be that guy but I'll take him over Nas. |

Still think we should trade Palms. Love him but I don't see him ageing that well and think he could have a lot of value at the deadline, especially since a lot of teams are going to be tight on cap space this offseason. |

Nas didn't even do good. It was literally blackwood stealing games. |

Agree, depending on the return though. If it’s not worthy, then let’s re-sign him |

I thought it was more MB than Nas too |

Seems like ruff has a general idea of the right things to do like never ever ever putting jack Hughes at wing that was brutal..he was much better at center because he can better use his skating ability in the middle of ice and he won't get pinned on the boards..he is too small lol. And yea nj desperately need a reliable number 2 goalie...but who?? Part of me wants them to give Cory another chance...maybe Senn I do like him..thank God for blackwood |

sames. depends on the return. I think he'll be putting up +/- 25 goals for the next 5 years. Seems solid in the room. There are only so many leadership guys we have on this team. Palms, Zajac.. I guess Severson or Subban?? Maybe Hischier?? I think leadership means something different from a 29yr old compared to a 21 yr old in the NHL. |

Defensively nothing got better and Blackwood was the real difference; but offensively it looked better. At least that’s the way I saw it. |

I guess you could say it wasn't as bad but it was ranked 20th in the league from when he took over so it wasn't exactly good. IMO promoting Nas to head coach would have been just as bad as Ruff. |
