I’m actually a bit disappointed to see him heading to the KHL, as I think he could’ve been fairly successful with a permanent spot in the lineup.
I'm sure there were numerous considerations that I have absolutely no idea about that kept him in Russia, but you gotta wonder what would have happened had Prokhorkin stuck with Manchester at the start of the last decade and developed in North America. IIRC, the Kings took a flier on him (a 4th) as there were indications he'd stay in Russia which turned out correct. The kid had a lot of talent, and he had some solid years in the KHL (albeit his best years were with a stacked St. Pete's team). While he might have never developed beyond what he is now, it makes you wonder what would have been. |
